I was on the diesel side for many years before switching to my Rebel a few months ago. Granted all of my mod experience with the Cummins is on Pre 2005 models, but with your '18, Id imagine that the EGR system is your major performance hindrance. Not to mention the restrictive intake /air...
Exactly what Troutspinner said.... Biggest thing to remember is to keep your front tires as dry as possible. On some of those slick ramps, once the fronts are wet, its game over. I've personally watched many really nice rigs end up in the drink from sliding down the ramp. Especially if its a...
Believe it or not, my mileage improved since I started driving more stop and go traffic. On the trip from Montana to Maryland, I was around 16.5 mpg. I guess there's something to be said about the eTorque in that regard, but Im still not fully convinced though that the eT is solely responsible...
Well, today at lunch I hit 10,000 miles, and figured I’d go ahead and write up a long-term review. So, here goes…
First, I couldn’t be happier with its overall performance. With the exception of the “Missing Compass/Truck thought it was always in Montana” issue, I have nothing to complain...
I had a similar issue. Truck nav was saying I was in Montana when in reality I was in DC, the auto-time would always default to Mountain Time, and my compass/direction wouldn't display. Anyway, after much hem-hawing with Ram/UConnect and their engineers, they were able to talk the dealer...
Yeah, it definitely sucks. Ive been off the forums for a while and just logged on this morning to see this. I'm sure Jared is working feverishly on a fix!
I have that problem on my 8.4, but with android auto. It puts me in Glasgow, MT every time, and doesn't fix itself until I've driven up to 10 miles sometimes. I should note that I live in Maryland. Also, my compass doesn't work most of the time, and if I set my clock to update timezones via GPS...
I have the same noise. I have nothing concrete to base this on, but I think that it is caused by the combination of rust bloom/frost on the brake components overnight, and the brake-assist system engaging to clear it out. I don't think that its anything damaging or serious, just kind of annoying.
So I saw a connection process for phones on another thread so I figured "what the hell" and decided to try the process. And...…. It seems to have fixed things!!!!
It completely reloaded the android auto app to my phone. Then it ran through the get-started portion of the setup on the 8.4...

Just for kicks and grins I tried this process about an hour ago to try and fix my compass issue and IT WORKED!!!!:eek::eek: At least, it seems to be working. It completely reloaded the android auto app to my phone. Then it ran through the get-started portion of the setup on the 8.4. When...
I got a similar call about 20 min ago. My issue is my compass doesn't wok/display. Must be the trigger day to "update the navigationally challenged"
And a little preventative action by applying a small amount of a silicon based lubricant to the seals will help. I used to do this to my old trucks ramboxes in Montana and never had an issue, even at 40 below zero.
So after inspecting the antenna assembly for loose wires and letting it sit disconnected from the battery for about 4 hours, still not working. Well, its not working full time, anyway. It worked for about 20 minutes on the way to work this morning.
But, I did get an actual phonecall from...
This sounds like something I will investigate tomorrow for sure! A picture would be great as well, just to make sure I'm digging around in the right place. Thanks!
d_THRILL, I'm getting stonewalled by FCA/uConnect for a different issue, but can you let me know where you left them a negative comment? I'm getting nowhere trying to get my issue resolved. Thanks!
Yeah, I think the UConnect folks are a bit baffled and befuddled as well. And surprisingly, my compass worked for the first time in 2 weeks on my way to work this morning! Hopefully it continues working...
