One other thing I have done in the past is to run the antenna wire through the third brake light to a mag mount. I did not do that this time because I was going to put a headache rack on and mount the antenna on that. Unfortunately the mopar headache rack doesn’t fit on my truck due to the rambox’s
In my previous truck I put the radio base in one of the underfloor storage bin. That worked ok, but I was always a bit worried about the heat.

One radio picks up the signal coming from the fob and rebroadcasts it to another radio by the vehicle . If the distance becomes too great between the two radios, the truck will loose the fob. The distance this works depends on the output power of the radios, and whatever obstacles are between...

You can text via Siri on the 12” screen, I do it all the time. You can’t do voice texting via the truck due to a Bluetooth incompatiblity between Apple and Uconnect that’s been around since at least 2013. I have never used CarPlay as I can’t be bothered plugging in a cable each time.
