When I tow my boat or snowmobile up north, which is quite frequent, I find that most of the gas stations don’t have 89 octane. Therefore I fill up half of the tank with 87 and half with the 91 (non-oxy) gas in order to make my own blend.
Anyone else have to do this?
I used to have mechanics give me grief about driving like a grandpa. They told me that I wasn't pushing the engine through the RPM range enough. Eventually I just let my wife drive it occasionally and that problem is then solved. :D
This is the real answer to the OP's question. Dealers track what their customers buy, and should pay attention to what prospective customers ask for. I'll compare it to the group pizza order. If you invite 30 people over to your house, you'll order a bunch of 1-topping pizzas, some fancy ones...
Since wedoi revived an old thread, I'll give an update. I bought the Goodyear Ultraterrains and ran them all winter, plowing through deep snow and pulling my snowmobile trailer. I never got stuck. In the spring I put my old Falkens back on because they still have useful life. They are only at...
I was a long-time Ford guy who got sick of all of their long-term problems. When I met my wife 20yrs ago she was driving a Volkswagon. When I started constantly replacing headlights and taillights I discovered how truly bad the electrical is in VW products, and how it was a known problem for...
Dig into any brand and you will find problems. As you know, Toyotas are pretty reliable but pretty plain. Ram is a nice blend. It's one of the more reliable trucks in its class but with better finishes than Toyota.
I wouldn't worry about quality issues.
I think that he was confusing up-shifting and down-shifting. My 2021 Bighorn certainly will let me downshift into 1st if I want, but when I set it to a higher gear it will only upshift when it's gosh darn ready (i.e. I am at the correct speed and throttle value).
Personally, I use T/H mode anytime I'm towing because the higher shifting points makes the truck sound more badass. Protecting the transmission, braking, etc....that's all just gravy on top of my Ram poutine
I rotate my tires once every fall. The two main reasons that I do instead of someone else, is because 1) I look closely for nails/screws in my tires and, 2) it forces me to lower and raise the spare tire once per year. It keeps that system moving and lets me verify that the spare is properly...
I agree that they need to diagnose in addition to just following the codes. However, how irate would the customer be if critical thinking lead the tech to replace something else which wasn't the problem. Because they have these codes built into vehicles these days, a tech better have a good...
Great question since I ordered the wrong one initially. They told me, and I can confirm, that "Medium Blue Metallic (B5)" is a very close match to what came on the trucks. I did not order letters to go on the 1500 badge in the hood, because I was concerned that the colors wouldn't be a close...
It finally got above 50degrees so that I could apply the vinyl overlays from Reflective Concepts. I never liked the monotone dark look of my truck. These overlays compliment the blue “etorque” badge in the hood. It looks fantastic. Customer service was also outstanding. What I didn’t expect but...
The reality is that neither path, left to its own devices, works well. They work well in balance, and we (the taxpayers) will always argue about what the right balance is. More importantly, there will always be politicians that are making the decisions that affect that balance.
I did it on my 2015 Ram as well. I had never had a vehicle where the radiator cap wasn't metal with a pop top. I saw the plastic top and poured in windshield wiper fluid. I just siphoned until it stopped coming out blue. No harm no foul. It ran for another 70k miles before I traded it in.
I don't know the theories that are working in your head, but I only know about RAM's warning because it happened to me. Winter of 2021/22 I was towing my loaded two-place snowmobile trailer during a snowstorm. I came around a curve on the highway to see a car half on the shoulder and half in my...
There's a reason all of us are out on truck forums, versus being out on a "love your spouse" forum ;)
My wife has owned a BMW and now and Audi. Great cars until something goes wrong, and something always goes wrong eventually in every car. She throws out how much we paid and I just agree -...
