This is because the RL is providing more droop in the control arm where as the factory UCA is whats limiting travel. You can see it binding. Down travel is more important than up travel in most scenarios.
Not sure any manufacture is ever going to admit to creating defective product unless its hazardous. You can get hung up on FCA alll you want but the system HAS been updated since many of these issues were reported. Air suspension is proven pretty problematic in pretty much every automobile...
I mean... its air suspension. Its the worst thing for anything off-roading. Coil springs and quality shocks are king for offroad. Air suspension is beyond convenient though. Cake and eat it.
