uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Ugh, not sure to be honest. When you look up the other TSBs on the thread, it specifically outlines audio cutting in/out, but it’s for the systems without the OTA capability. Even the software revisions don’t match those for the OTA capable ones. But for this release, it does. Maybe they didn’t...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

For those with the 12” screen, there’s a uConnect update that was released January 26 2019. Posted in the TSB thread. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4upy7823d2u8wsq/UAX%20and%20UCX%20Radio%20Enhancements.pdf?dl=0 I find this one odd, I was told these systems were OTA update only. When you view the...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

FWIW - I remember seeing an article where SiriusXM sent an update of some sort, which negatively affected Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Their symptoms were, believe it or not, issues with the backup camera. I'll try to dig up the article, it was from a few years ago. But the theory is that, perhaps...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Yes. As soon as I start the truck and ignition in RUN, the issue will appear immediately. If the issue is happening, and I put the ignition into ACC, the audio stops cutting in/out. I don't have access to the backup camera since its in ACC. This is all before even touching the shift knob...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

So wait, just to confirm - you're only getting the issue (audio cutting and backup camera) when you're in drive? I get the issue regardless if I'm in PRND.

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Alright boys, lets keep this thread on target. Referring to my original post, I linked a Jeep JL Wrangler thread where the 2018+ Wranglers are experiencing the EXACT same issue. There are owners, including RAMs, are confirming that it is not temperature related. I think we just started...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Yes, I noted that in the original post.

    Annoying Uconnect Glitches

My thoughts exactly. I work in IT, and it shouldn’t take this long to resolve issues/bugs. If I was in their situation, I would have been fired by now.

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Email sent. This is what I wrote: To: [email protected] Subject: 2019 RAM 1500 - 8.4c Audio Cutting In/Out - Rear Backup Camera Guidelines Disappearing RE: FCA Case ID xxxxxxxx Hello uConnect Team, I was told by my dealership to email this address with my concerns / issues...

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

Exactly what I noticed. When the temperature is at or around freezing it occurs more consistently. I've noted this before on the other threads too.

    Uconnect 8.4 nav no sound

Totally hear you on this. I'm not one to complain much on forums, because who is really listening? But seriously, this will probably be my first and last FCA product. Looking at a TRD PRO Tacoma or Tundra...

    Uconnect 8.4 nav no sound

I totally agree. I traded in my 2011 4Runner, with absolutely no issues with 123,000KMs, for this $70K truck. I decided on the RAM over the F150 because of the technical specs and features it offered. I looked at other manufacturers, but they were obviously no match in terms of bang for the...

    Sound System Problems

Wish that was the answer. Other members have replaced either the radio or amp, or even both, but the issue returned. Given that this is happening to RAMs and Jeep Wranglers, I think it’s a software issue.

    Sound System Problems

Well that didn’t work at all, the issue literally came back after the first start LOL. What I am noticing is that it’s happening more often when the weather is at or around freezing. When it was sub-freezing temperatures it didn’t happen as often, or at all. It actually only happened when my...

    Sound System Problems

I've disconnected both positive and negative terminals on the battery for just over 20 minutes. I can say it has the same result as only disconnecting the negative terminal for a second or two (as expected). We'll see if the issue comes back (which I'm sure it will). What I've been doing is...

    Sound System Problems

Thanks! I’ll give this a shot tomorrow and will post if the issue comes back. So far I’ve only been disconnecting the negative terminal.

uConnect 12.1" & 8.4" - Intermittent Pauses in Audio for All Sources

As far as I know, the 8.4 and 12.1 have different amplifiers. I really believe this is a software issue. As I've stated before, I've seen the previous TSBs pertaining to trucks with the 8.4 screens (non-nav, non-connected), and it addresses the issue of "audio cutting in/out". I think FCA is...

    Sound System Problems

That's why I'm hesitant on trying it. Looking at the comments, it looks like its mainly older vehicles. I'm not sure if our trucks even apply to it. I'm holding off until I hear what that hard reset can be...

    Sound System Problems

You know, the only thing I haven't tried, and apparently its a common thing with FCA vehicles - was to disconnect both positive and negative terminals on the battery, and connect both positive and negative wires together. I wonder if that's the answer? I've tried all the other possible...

    12.1” Uconnect intermittent pauses

Damn. Back to the drawing board. Check this link - https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/sound-system-problems.6095/#post-90929 Apparently a hard reset is performed by the dealer and it resolved the issue. Obviously no one knows how this hard reset is performed, but we should start asking...
