Put my 1500 to the test

Nice! Those were great trucks for their time. The 3/4 Burbans with the 8.1’s were nice too. They should have done the duramax Burban back then.

Put my 1500 to the test

Yeah that’s no fun. That good ole 8.1 will get you there if there’s enough gas stations. Need a fuel cell. My friend put a 60 gallon cell in the bed of his 70 Chevy truck with 600+ HP so he can skip a few stations on the highway.

Towing help for new 1500 purchase

I wouldn’t worry too much about the ride with the 2500. I prefer the Ram 2500 ride to my recent 18 F150 even. You feel the added stiffness but with the rear coils it rides very nice. I would have gone 6.4 with the 2500 if it wasn’t for the fuel mpg. Not the most fuel efficient for a daily...

Put my 1500 to the test

Imagine if that big non aero dynamic 14k trailer was in cross winds behind a gas engine though. My 18 eco boost that couldn’t tow that trailer anyways would have probably been at 4mpg 😆

    295/70/R18 - Anyone Running These?

That sucks. That doesn’t give you much room to air down. An episode of TFL truck I watched today had the super raptor builds on and they only run 35 psi in the rear of those unless towing. These 12 ply tires are that overrated that a super duty runs them that low.

    295/70/R18 - Anyone Running These?

Oh dang! Never thought of running into that. I wander if the dealer can reprogram it. My truck comes in some time in the next week. It has the off road package. So I’m not sure what the factory wild peaks run at.

    Fuel Diesels for the Rebel

Nice looking rebel! I’d rock it. Maybe I should have ordered a rebel lol

    295/70/R18 - Anyone Running These?

I’m looking at running this size tire And will stay tuned. Wish they had more options around this size. I would like the new Toyo’s but like all other tires they are Load F, 12 ply in the 295/70/18 size. It seems odd that no one has a just a 10 ply in this size but Nitto offers an XL rated. The...

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

As I’ve told you like a broken record I do actually get what you are putting down. It just goes over your head because You’re beating it like it owes you money. There’s many things you’ve disregarded or left un answered because you are only worried about your point rather than constructive...

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

Your argument is always that. Comparing 2-3, 3-4 and so on. You’ve done it over and over and over and over. These 3.21’s sound magical. Always winning one gear behind. I think I’ll re gear my truck went it arrives next week so I can tote my trailer one gear behind while overheating my...

Back peddle, please give me an example of where I back peddled. I’ll wait....

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

You are here for the win! What do you win? Life! Real life experience prevails wise one. I agree with all of what you put down and it is the same things I have learned over the last couple decades. The heat is a big factor people ignore too and do not understand the underlining causes. It’s nice...

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

5500’s only come with Aisin’s brosifff... Not sure why you’re so stuck on first gear and every gear ahead of a competing ratio. Apples to oranges everytime! Don’t get all bent because I don’t agree with you. I’ve been having fun. You’re taking this too seriously. I wasn’t typing in all caps so...

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

Again, common mistake. You're assuming both trucks are in the same numerical gear at the same speed. They won't be. They will be in the same "gear ratio", not the same numerical gear. Again.... proving the 3.92 superior 😂 because it will always be one step ahead. You keep reverting back to...

    Truck bed campers for 1500

If you are stuck with going 1500 you could always go tradesman quad cab. Thought that’s around a 2k payload. Not fancy but you’d be in better shape to squeeze by. I’d still go 2500 though for a slide in camper. Ive seen a few on 1500 trucks ever and theyve always looked a little sketchy. I’d go...

    1500 or 2500

Yeah and the New 2500’s ride really nice with the rear coil springs. It’s a true cowboys cadillac. I found my dad a nice new Cummins 2500 last year and I actually think some people would prefer the way it rides vs the 1500. It’s just a firmer version of the 1500. Feels more controlled so towing...

    Towing my 32' travel trailer

You can make that work. Especially if it’s just locally. Pack the trailer with your gear. Nothing in the bed unless it’s very light. I just pack my trailer only. People and big gulps in the truck. All the goods In the trailer Evenly distributed.

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

This is exactly my argument for the 3.92 gears. Running larger tires and towing at the upper limit warrants the 3.92’s. Everybody else can get by with out them. Heat? Nah revving a smaller cog that will be turning faster and thrash Your bearings by generating too much heat? Don’t tell these boys...

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

It’s good to see someone with real world experience weather man. This is exactly correct. The new gear boxes have shortened these differences but it’s still an advantage in all gears regardless with weight like this in tow. Especially if that weight is pointed up hill.

    3.92 with the Ecodiesel

There is no argument here that they can‘t both tow fine. I explained well and clear what the real world differences are. Put a larger tire on both, Hook up your 3.21 and 3.92 truck up to 8k, then race it up the 7% grade. We’re comparing towing here not grocery getters racing to red lights. Its...
