Yes, I've been in a few of the older semis and visilibity is lacking, but your loking out and over, not up and over. Even with the old school high hoods on semis, you still have a good field of view straight ahead.
I haven't been able to read the final revision of the NC law, but it's more...
Apples to oranges. With the squatted trucks, there is a massive (average 60 ft) blindspot in the main intended direction of travel located directly in front of the vehicle due to extreme chassis angle. Every one you see, the driver is basically hanging from the steering wheel in an attempt to...
I also tow an 8ft travel trailer. My factory mirrors with the small convex did OK at best. I also have observation cameras which make a world of difference. I went with the Boost Auto flip up mirrors with manual flip up, but power fold. Couldn't be happier. I can see for days behind the...
Lift kits have their place and can serve a legit purpose. Squatting a truck does not. Period. Well, it actually does. Most of the squatter folks tend to blow out axles, ball joints, universal joints etc in 5-6,000 miles because they took the absolute cheapest route to do so generally, which...
For what it's worth, I keep the magnet mount in the truck just incase something happens with the mount I use currently. Having a backup plan for a backup camera is never a bad idea...and before anyone says it, yes I do have mirrors that work as well. :) Really like the live view from the...
Thanks. Glad I could help. It's deffinately a solid mount. That huge monitor barely moves unless I smack a true NC pothole. The magnet mount would probably hold mine as well as the monitor only weighs a few ounces more than most newer mobile phones. However, we tow down some very narrow and...
Alrighty....lets dive in. I have linked the 3 items you will need if your display is similiar to mine. I went ahead and bought a full mount with the magnetic end because I'm sure I'll end up using it for something. The last link is for a display mount which supports the "T-bolt" mounting...
Absolutely! I'm at work until whenever I can save the world today. I'll post up some photos this evening for you.
I went with this setup due to the wireless backup system I already had. It's a rather uncommon mount for the display screen. With the setup I chose, it works perfect and looks...
Yeah, I decided against the full RAM mount and went with the Bullet Point mount. That thing is SOLID! Did have to buy one Ram adapter to do what I needed, but it's done and looks great.
If it's open, go take the walking tour of New Belgium. Take an Uber. You'll need it when you leave. If you're into mixed adult beverages, go find "Top of the Monk." It's just the upstairs portion of the "Thirsty Monk". Also Wicked Weed Brewing near Biltmore is one of the best people...
I'm pulling about the same as OP. If I was worried about fuel mileage, I wouldn't have a truck nor a camper. :) Mine seems pretty comfy pulling 6K in tow mode. The engine braking is most welcomed.
Mine was basically impossible to refuel. Ended up being a failed rollover valve in the fuel tank. Dealer replaced filler neck, fuel pump (check valve was partially blocked), and fuel tank. I can refuel with the gas nozzle full throttle now. :)
