An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

    B. Sc. E. E. from a well known university. I dont like to share too many details. I work in technology, know how tech companies abuse our information, and know that our digital footprints and fingerprints are already far too extensive!

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

Lol. You have no idea. I am an Engineer by Education. So yes, a nerd at times. Force required to overcome drag = 1/2 X air density x drag coefficient x reference area x speed squared. I researched and used the actual CdA of the 2020 Ram 1500, and the actual air density for my location and...

An Engineer's Ultimate Guide To 3.21 VS 3.92 Axle Ratio

First time out on the highway for any meaningful distance since I had the mild level/lift and AT tires installed. Bilstein 5100s front and back. Front set at #5 (1.7 in lift). Rear 1 inch motofab spacer. 275/65r20 AT tires on stock 20 inch wheels (34 inch tire vs 32 inch stock). So in...

    275/65/20 with Bilstein 5100

Another reference point. Bilstein 5100's front and back. #5 on the front. One inch motofab spacer on the rear. Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT 275/65 R20. I know, I know, they aren't Duratracs. My RAM spends 95%+ of it's miles on pavement and I don't haul real heavy, or tow really big...

    Bilstein 5100

I don't know much about alignments on these trucks. I would align my cars back in the day by the old tape measure in the driveway method. If you add the 5100's on setting #5 in the front like a lot of folks here have done, are the alignment specifications the same? Or would a new set of...

2019+ Rams with Lifts/Levels, and/or aftermarket wheel tire setups

Also posted in the Bilstein 5100 thread. 5100's all around. #5 in the front. 1 inch motofab spacer in the rear. 275/65R20 AT tires on the stock 20 in chrome wheels. Gained 2.7 inches in the front and 2 inches in the back measured ground to wheel well. Still have the reduced but slight...

    Bilstein 5100

I had the Bilstein 5100's installed yesterday all around. For the front on setting #5. On the back I added a 1 inch motofab spacer. I did 275 65 20 AT rubber at the same time. Lifts and rubber, I gained 2.7 inches in the front and 2 inches at the back. Went from ~2 1/4 inches of rake to ~1 1/2...

Let's see those running boards/side steps

I looked at those ones as well. But mine are a bit different. Make sure you get the right ones - crew cab or quad cab. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T8DKPB9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_CNYSFbYP9BFKX

    Bilstein 5100

I had the Bilstein 5100's installed today all around. For the front on setting #5. On the back I added a 1 inch motofab spacer. Pics tomorrow as it got too dark when I got home. I did 275 65 20 rubber at the same time. Lifts and rubber, I gained 2.7 inches in the front and 2 inches at the...

    Quiet tires?

The Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenzas that came stock on my Ram 1500 are very quiet. Can't comment on road noise as mileage increases because I have never owned these for a long time.

What did you do to your Ram today???

Installed the 'Chrome' front bumper plugs today. They look pretty decent from not too close. When you get close, you can see they don't shine like real chrome. But for me it is better than the four black holes that were there. Used Krylon Chrome look paint on the black plastic bumper plugs...

Let's see those running boards/side steps

RamThunder, They are all aluminum. I like that because I have seen a number of the cost effective heavy steel boards that suffer rust too quickly, sometimes where you don't see it under the rubber anti-slip step pads or near poorly painted welds under the board. Not a huge deal, because I was...

What did you do to your Ram today???

6" wide and fully covered in anti-slip tread. Quite a bit of adjustability inwards/outwards. I have mine tucked all the way in to the truck, and there is just the right amount of space to step on the board with my size 11 foot. My wife's size 6 liked the setting too. If you are often in...

Let's see those running boards/side steps

I went with the APS iBoard Polished Aluminum boards. I have the old school chrome bumpers and 20 in Chrome wheels, so I wanted a bit of chrome on the boards to tie it together. The way these are shipped, and I imagine that it is similar with a lot of these boards, the brackets are shipped in...

    Tonneau Cover Pics

I got the Tyger T1 Soft Rollup cover. I wasn't worried about the need for a hard cover for security. Honestly, I am shocked at what you get for the price. It was $189 on Amazon. It looks great. It did just fine with Tropical Storm ETA blowing through the last few days. Warning - It only...

    How are the cloth seats?

Seat comfort is subjective, let me start there. I have the cloth seats. Deluxe Cloth Bucket Seat option for $595. From my perspective, I love them. Super comfortable. My wife has some back issues and she loves them too. I would say that they are the second best seat I have experienced...
