I went to D1 on Friday, 8/27 with an estimated ship of 9/9 which I thought was a build date. Anyways, dealer told me yesterday that Ram 1500 builds were apparently halted, but my ship date didn’t change. Just got notification that my ship date is now 9/17.
As much as I thought the ship date was...
I went to D1 on Friday but there was no date. Dealer told me a 9/9 build date today and Ram Chat said all my materials have been acquired. But they also said that 2022s have not been scheduled for production yet. Even more crazy, they said all their plants are not experiencing a chip shortage...
Couldn’t FCA make those ‘22 orders?
I went to D1 on Friday afternoon but a build or shipping date wasn’t listed. I couldn’t check the status yesterday but I will be getting an update tomorrow.
Ok, I should clarify. I think you hit the nail on the head as far as grouping with the 6’-4” bed. TRX’s have a short bed but they are unique so it makes sense that they are grouped together and issued a D1 status around the same time. Regardless of VIN.
I think @KWKSLVR hit the nail on the head.
@DTol you and I ordered on the same day and I have a 6’-4” box too. Although we don’t have the same color, we both have a red. I’m not getting my hopes up. I am taking my D1 status as they are planning their build schedules. For all I know, they could...
I do and it has the Level B package which is when Ram removed blind spot monitoring. I guess it is still available on the Rebel? Which I would have gotten if it came in a crew cab and 6’-4” bed.
That’s probably what I’ll do. I actually called some Chevy dealers to get prices on the trim level with air ride and it’s way higher than what I’m getting for the Ram. So I’ll be sucking it up and dealing with it. Just can’t promise that I’ll stop complaining about it though LOL
This definitely sucks too but I feel like it’s a different argument to my point which is the Laramie being a higher luxury trim. You would think things you can add to a Big Horn would be standard in a Laramie.
I can’t fathom the fact that a Big Horn will have an option that is not even available on a Laramie. Now I’m wondering what else is the Laramie I ordered not going to have? This forum and specific thread has been very helpful so I appreciate everyone’s insight and discussions on it. I hope I’m...
I’d be willing to bet the limited’s went up because of people ordering Laramie’s jumping up a trim level. My dealer was unfortunately useless in understanding the packages. But shame on me for not better understanding then too.
Level 2 did have it and I guess that is what I was expecting with Level B. Obviously it was dropped. Not that it’s a deal breaker but I only went Ram because of air ride suspension. But, I learned that Chevy now offers air ride on their 2021 Silverado and you can get the 6.2L…
