I'm no pro either; but towed a 30 foot camper with a 5.4 ford and now tow a 23 foot snowmobile trailer and 16' camper with a 5.0 ford with 3.55 gears. Like everything, tons of opinions on this. I test drove a 2500 Cummins and decided against it - it's big and felt stiff. I just didn't think...
@WXman Get some more time running just the engine tune and let us know if you think the improved performance is worth it; or if by taking out the positive side of the trans tune does it make it pointless to have the engine tuned?
Edited to say Please and Thank you! :)
I wondered if electric could really be ready for my needs before I ordered my Ram. So I called Rivian. They could not tell me where the chargers actually are in the state of Michigan nor how much cold weather towing (I'm a snowmobiler) will affect the range. So we aren't there yet with an...
189 vin's approaching 50% and seeing a good number of Laramie's 6'4" today seems in my favor. For a Friday I'm holding on to that positivity and ignoring any detrimental facts :)
What state are you in? Whenever I buy I rely heavily on tire rack test data and consumer reviews; pick a top 3 tire that meets your requirements and then make sure the reviews are tons of miles. I wouldn't mess with different sizing, but would go LT if you are towing. Personally haven't tried...
Any estimations on how the holidays slow production down? How many days are there with no production or limited production around thanksgiving and Christmas?
Sun and sand seems to beat up the paint; but then again I live in Michigan and ours have all the winter salt and sand. Maybe sun and sand not a problem on such a new one.
56K on a sticker of 61 - I'd still go place an order unless all the dealers near you are MSRP+ - I think there are still some out there selling less than msrp; even better if you qualify for some of the discounts like first responder.
I agree- follow the Carfax links to the window stickers. Neither is a good price unless you are in a jam and have to have a vehicle now. If not, build what you want and order it. I personally wouldn't buy a vehicle from Texas; I think the second one is.
I also voted blue contra - I have a HydroBlue on the way and agree with DJ above - for me, the blue contra is the most unique and has a certain "pop". They are pricey though, so honestly I'm more likely to just order take-offs in gloss black when my truck shows up.
@PaHydroRam so your dealer is saying the factory has 20percent of what they need on bug and 3.92s? What does there date mean in terms of the hydro blue? I sincerely hope you get yours before me, but all 3 of those items are on my order too so I appreciate the insight.
Does anyone on the forum have a Hydro Blue with Black wheels? My combination of options only allowed the chrome wheels so I am considering buying some black take offs to have the dealer swap the rubber before I take delivery of truck. Every other blue truck I've seen looks great with black.
PM your vin to triple B or Eighty on here and they will track and get you in the chart that they are publishing that shows when orders are placed, and when build sheets and window stickers are available. There is a 2022 orders thread that they put information into frequently.
