Good starting points for anyone new with this issue. As for me, if you've read my posts, I have changed and replaced everything tire and suspension related but 3 things. Those 3 things are wheel bearings, rear link bars, and rear end. I'm getting my truck back tomorrow after it sitting at a...
Gotta replace the rear link bars with adjustable bars to correct the pinion angle and stop the rear end from hopping. That's the factory engineering fail!
Bright idea💡... already done it and changed the rear U-joint! Rear end is hopping caused by a bad pinion angle, that's what's eating up tires at 500 miles on up.
It's an engineering flaw. The rear wheels are hopping and causing the tires to chop across the tread pattern and making tires go out of round. The rear pinion angle doesn't match the front transmission output shaft angle and the rear control arm setup is jinky.
I agree... Brought it to another dealership 2 week's ago now and they couldn't do anything but charge me $140.00 for a diagnostic fee to observe what I already knew. They also informed me that my powertrain warranty was flagged by the other dealership whom said they weren't going to do that. Now...
Okay, I may have discovered the actual cause, an engineering defect that RAM/FCA is acting like they're blind to. Check the angle of your engine dampener or the face of the transmission output shaft. Mine is at -4 degrees down from the factory. Then check your pinion flange or the back of the...
Are you going to pay the thousands of dollars to return it back to stock... because I'm not! I'm glad that you were able to resolve the issue and RAM Cares stepped up and did their job for a change.
Just spent the last 2 day's preparing for battle! Got all of the documentation I needed and spent all afternoon typing up the email to the lawyer. FYI the dealership that blackballed me voided my engine, transmission, and power train warranty! More firepower...
Update...Helped ever so slightly, but didn't fix it. Waiting to replace the rear upper and lower link bars that are adjustable to correct the pinion angle. After that it's in the differential!
FYI I've got post's under the Slight Vibration thread on this site. I've done all of the same and more with no resolution to the underlying problem. Everything I've done has helped...but not fixed it. I have 2 more things left to try and I'm done. I've found that the pinion output shaft is at 90...
I've just recently had my driveshaft checked and it was out of balance. Shop rebalanced it and I pushed them to change the rear U-joint. It helped slightly but the same damn vibration is there. I have identified the pinion shaft and transmission output shafts are off by 4 degree's. Driveline...
Hasn't been resolved Kathryn. Just got my driveshaft back from the driveline shop and the driveshaft was out of balance...cost me $120.00...what is FCA going to do to reimburse me? Still don't know if this is the fix either.
Well I'm not sure how to PM you but I have found new evidence in my case which I'm going to try. More money down the rabbit hole. This seems to be the fix in my case.
It's really disheartening to hear your story as mine is not as many issues, but much of the same. I haven't traded mine in yet because I know they're similar issues with Ford and GM trucks, if you read enough. Problem is with all 3 of these brand's it is not on every truck and it's very hit or...
