Actually the rails will not need to be cut and the brackets will not need to modified for the MX4. I purchased one from amazon used, but they sent me the 6’4” bed version. Figured since it was used I would still try it out. It fits over the new brackets nicely. The only thing I would recommend...
After trying 5 covers, I found one that suits my OCD and does not need (much) modification. The UnderCover Ultraflex - this is my third one and love the cover (2009 ram, 2018 GMC and now 2019 ram).
You’ll need to trim the seal about the length of the bracket, and use flush mount bolts on the...
for sure. The gator recoil felt horrible and at 75mph it was bowing like a vinyl cover. holding puddles of water too. My Ultra flex on my last truck was rock solid,
Neato -the cover looks awesome. Do you feel like the cut rail could be a source of major water intrusion? How does it seal at the top?
Also, where does the X4 drop in to connect with the rails?
Also, do you have any reservations without the brackets? I probably ran them for a month without the brackets. Couldn't figure out what they supported.
Yeah that is kind of a pain, i rarely have enough in the bed to flip it all the way up, maybe once or twice. The MX4 i got was 680, so figured i would give it a whirl.
Hopefully you got it through Amazon or eBay free returns if it doesn’t! The resale on these covers suck!
I have a “used like new” MX4 coming in tomorrow. I’ll post it up if it works, my gator recoil sags pretty bad...
About a foot.
maybe 11-12 inches? I was not too concerned as I usually just need to fit 4-8 tires. My biggest comcern was with the depth of the canister. I have a pop up tent I needed to fit under it, which it fits fine. You lose about 10” worth of depth. I would order on amazon, if you don’t...
I'll snap some photos in a bit here. One thing i would recommend is that if you have the track rail system, is to reverse it so the openings for the tie downs are at the tailgate. Not sure why mopar did that crap but if you install a canister style cover it will prevent you from getting the tie...
My idea worked perfectly. This should also help the guys with the rails not have to take chunks out of the rails to get them to fit. Thread size is
M8x1.25 x 80mm you won’t be able to find them in store (even fastenal and grainger did not have them.
