The measurements that would be really useful is the width of the canister and the length from the canister to the end of the tonneau. The external measurements of the tonneau tell you nothing as all those will fall outside of the internal bed measurements.
After reviewing the video you posted a couple of posts ago, I do not believe the jackrabbit with fit without modification. I don't want to come off as a know-it-all about the tonneau covers but I have fitted now 6 different covers with the MFT, 2 retractable, and 4 foldup. I can identify the...
Id recommend watching some install videos on a ram or another truck. It needs clearance on either side where the brackets rest (at least 3/8-1/2”) and it also needs clearance at the bulkhead. Some of them the canister sits all the way up to the bulkhead, which would impede bracket clearance...
I have the same, didn’t noticed much in terms of stiffness but I also drive race karts and race cars, so pretty numb to bumps. Rides much better than my lifted GMC though.
Yes it was actually the best fitting out of all of them. You need to use the recessed bolts as I’ve linked in previous threads and snip about 12” of weather stripping from the rails. Other than that nothing else.
theres plenty of other covers that you can get to work. I tried 5 of them and finally settled on the undercover ultra flex! I would hate to have to do a soft cover
If the tire size calculator is correct above, i stand corrected. I was not taking in to consideration that the OEM sizes drop by 10%. My 25/45/22XL switched to a 35x12.5 should be @38psi i will try 40 today and see how it goes. Thanks for posting that PSI calculator Grouper
It wasn’t great when I tried it, the rail is different than most on here, and has to sit all the way to the bulkhead, which even the right on brackets don’t allow.
I think it would behoove you to put some flush-mounted bolts in the brackets. That will give you more room to fit the canister of the retrax so you don't have to jam it in there.
RJS - Thank you so much - this is such a relief - I will be getting my truck soon - and I am pretty set on a Retrax Pro XR - where is a good place to get a good deal if you know or can recommend it.
I would find one on eBay that has a best offer option. Offer them 1200 and see what they come...
