Today was Daystar and Link install which was going great - 2hrs in, no issues. Both air struts going back in, I finished the passenger side and then it felt like an IED went off outside the garage (I’m doing it in my 15x35 rented garage that has 10ish other units) so I quickly ran outside with...
I'm thinking about taking the ole tax return this year and doing both a bed storage system from Truck Vault and now that I see this, I might have to throw this in as well. Keep us updated OP.
Just as a note - I just checked all the bolts and two of the sway bar bracket bolts were about a half to a full turn loose. I added a tiny bit of loctite to them to prevent them from backing out.
If you install the bar, I’d recheck the bolts and links real quick to ensure they haven’t loosened...
Can’t recommend the Hellwig Sway Bar enough. Or a Pedal Commander. Those are the two best mods I’ve done to my truck and total they took about 15 mins to install. Completely transformed the ride.
Ah. Well. That makes total sense then. I’m the opposite. I have awful wood working tools, basically none but some old files my grandfather gave me. But I have two full tool boxes of stuff specifically for vehicle maintenance and access to free lifts when I need to do suspension work.
Yup - had 45 mins before an appointment and installed my bar. Transformed the ride of the truck.
Cordless impact, and some wrenches is all you need.
Completely planted the truck.
If anyone is on the fence about this, I thoroughly enjoy driving the truck now. No more skipping laterally mid...
$500 for spacer and spedo recalibration seems insane me to.
If you have a jack, and an impact or even a socket set you could do the spacers yourself in 30 mins. I just can’t imagine spending that on spacers. The spedo recalibration can be done with a $300 tool that you can use again to adjust...
Eh you can sort of see it in this photo - you’ll have to zoom in a little. I did it with fishing line, heat gun, goof off, DA polisher, and clay.
Disregard the disorganized garage.
Thread is Created by Billy James. It was responded in 6 days ago. Just scroll down and the title is along the lines of “looking for tire sizes for 20” wheels? Look in here.”
Nope no spacers - just threw the stockers back on.
I may have gone down to a 295/55/20 if they weren’t going to take a week to get in. I had read on here a while back that someone threw 305/55 on and I went for it. Turned out great.
I have 305/55/20 K02s on stock Limited 20s and it rubs at full lock in Aero which has never affected me. Normal I have no rubbing anywhere. Entry Exit I have about 60% turn radius before I rub.
There are entire threads dedicated to tire sizes on the various 20” offerings for these trucks. I...
Over about 8k miles I blew three of them.
I drive on unimproved roads daily for work - embedded into those roads are small, and admittedly sharp little rocks that managed to pop three of the tires, 2 of them on what I assume was the same rock at the same time - both drivers side tires! Thank...
I blew out three of the Dueler stock tires so I replaced the tires with K02s but other than that, the Tonneau came with the truck as did the tints. So yeah, it’s stock. For now....25k miles stock isn’t bad for me though. I’ve got another car that the body is just about the only stock thing on it.
Not what the OP is asking, but for the sake of others who will look through this thread in the future, I’ll post pictures of my Limited, non ORG, with the stock 20s. I’ve got 305/55/20 K02s on it and it rubs at full lock in Aero at parking lot speeds, otherwise I have never had it rub in Aero at...
Pulled a Uhaul trailer with a car loaded up with junk which weighed 7400lbs according to the Cat Weigh Scales.
Truck bed was loaded with another 1000lbs of stuff.
Drove through the Smokey’s and had absolutely no issues with the 3.21, and averaged 10.6mpg.
Could not agree more with you on the paint. I have all the necessary tools to detail cars - and have spent years detailing my other cars. I would not touch this car with a rotary polisher. Only random orbital. I’ve got huge inconsistencies in the paint thickness across the panels. From 10ft it...
My fault - I meant their auto transport which has all 4 wheels off the ground.
And I absolutely love mine as a daily driver as well. First truck I’ve ever owned, and I can see why people love them.
That atrocious gas mileage. I just towed a BMW M5 on a Uhaul dolly that weighs 2k itself, so about 6800lbs total with gas in the M5 and some other stuff I had loaded into it, and I got 10.4 going from Central TX to South Carolina.
Limited with 3.21 and just a standard Uhaul hitch rated for 11k...
