Do I need a sway bar?

Need implies "binary". You either need something, or you don't. You need something like water to survive, you don't need a TV to survive. Sway bars are enhancements. One can benefit from it, without having to "need" it. We are all different, with different comfort levels, different skills...

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

It's completely arbitrary. When I see 250+ towing, that's too hot for me. It doesn't matter if you feel the truck is fine at 225 when I'm concerned about it being at 250. You're focusing on 225 and suggesting AGS is not needed, I'm focusing on 250 and saying "that's too hot for me". And I'm...

Do I need a sway bar?

You're welcome to your opinion, but as somebody who has done the hellwig sway bar upgrade I'm going to tell you you're wrong. It makes a difference unloaded, and it makes a difference loaded. I haven't done a trailer swaybar, but my WDH does have anti sway built in (Anderson no sway). All of...

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

You're inserting an arbitrary value like 225 and suggesting that AGS delete is unessecsary. That's false logic, you don't know why people are removing AGS, I implied my reasons (towing and excessive heat). If your truck doesn't see those temps, because you just daily drive it or keep it in the...

Do I need a sway bar?

"Need" is the wrong word. You don't need a half ton for that trailer, a mid size would pull it. Equipment can be used to enhance towing experience, nothing wrong with looking for a more stable tow.

    RPM

Lugging is hard on any engine, turbos or NA makes no difference. High load at low rpms are bearing killers. This is why I tow above 2000 RPMs on the freeway even though my truck would often upshift another gear if I let it. But if the hurricane can't handle 1600 rpms at 55 mph and feathering...

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

Yes, and if you keep your truck parked in a cool garage then you don't need to worry about this. That wasn't the argument.

    RPM

The hemi with 3.21 is basically around 1200 RPMs at that speed. You'll never get that low with the 3.92 but it should definitely not be hanging onto 2000 rpms when you have another gear left. Talk to the dealer? Sounds like a poor tune to me.

Do I need a sway bar?

A lot of us are running the hellwig sway bar (on the truck itself), I put mine on the stiffest setting.

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

You do you. My truck works, and would hit 250+ towing. That is not healthy. If you use yours as a grocery getter then you probably don't need to worry about this.

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

They want the engine to run hot for emissions and MPG reasons, which I don't care about in the slightest. They need to run cooler, hot engines = wear. Combine the AGS with a 180 tstat and now we're finally getting sane temps again. Edit: the shutters warm up the engine quicker, so if you're in...

If the 5.7 Hemi goes away in 2024, I'm out of the RAM

Perhaps, perhaps not. It's just like the bias they have when they hop in something "new" and suddenly the "old" must by definition be "no good".

If the 5.7 Hemi goes away in 2024, I'm out of the RAM

EB and GM 2.7 yes, not the hurricane. It's not my opinion, I'm quoting literally every review which says there is turbo lag.

If the 5.7 Hemi goes away in 2024, I'm out of the RAM

Every review I've watched of the turbos (GM, Ford, and Ram), goes something like this: "almost no turbo lag!". Ok. You know what has absolutely zero turbo lag? A v8. Even a supercharger hits harder initially. A lot of opinion on these engines are biased. It's shiny, new, fast. I get it. I love...

If the 5.7 Hemi goes away in 2024, I'm out of the RAM

Guys, don't bite, it's all the signs of a troll. I'm last in line for a tiny turbo, but the one thing they do do is scoot (for a few years anyway), that's not the issue with them. The v8 will have a more visceral punch from a dead stop but once the turbos spool they'll put down more power, no...

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

The safest way is just to leave the two rows attached and don't touch the motor. Disconnecting the motor is completely unnecessary.

    Active Grill Shutter Removal

Well you shouldn't mess with the motor. Just keep the top and bottom rows of shutters and delete the others, that's all you have to do. The two rows are there to keep stability to that system (so that it doesn't physically collapse), and the motor being attached thinks its still doing whatever...

Thinking of tire downsizing 22" to 18"

I noticed a large improvement going from 20 inch michelin defender back to stock 18 inch goodyear wrangler. Maybe it is part tire compound, maybe part wheel size, but it was almost night and day. Of course the good years are as streetable as streetable can get, nothing aggressive or even close...

    5w20 vs 5w30

Earlier hemis apparently did, but the 2019+ (and probably earlier) don't. I've run Mobil 1 0w-40 in my truck and no codes were set.

No, I'm ignoring you because you're not arguing the facts you're trying to make things personal.
