My backup camera on the surround view would either stay black or eventually work after driving for 10 min. But flicker. After replacing the camera and wiring harness to no avail, STARS told them the replace the CVPM. I can say after having that put in that the problem has been rectified.
Just talked to dealer. The one they found was not compatible. They are trying some other things now. WHen they unhooked the camera and redid it, it worked. They may be ordering another camera. Seems it could be a bad batch.
So after having a new camera put in and wiring harness, my camera was still black. Stars is having them put in a "known good" central vision processing module to see if that works as the next step. I will keep you updated on this. If that doesn't work, we will see what the next step entails.
Ive had the wiring harness and camera replaced. Still goes to this black screen in cold weather or until I drive at least 12 miles. They have a Star case submitted.
New harness was installed. The camera now "flickers" sometimes like the old camera and harness did, although it is not going black from a cold start until driving 12 miles like when they just replaced the camera. Dealer said they are putting in a star case.
They replaced my camera Friday morning were still able to replicate the problem. Then they tested the wiring harness which was faulty so they had to special order that. It's not some simple small pigtail piece, the tech told me it's a much longer cable with the pigtail end. I will keep you...
