Again don’t panic when you first turn on the new radio. Some icons won’t be there for a bit, the back up camera on mine still showed the 5” size, and my compass wasn’t there either. Just be patient and let it run through it’s download from main computer. I forget either nismo or infotainment...
I got the same email when I ordered them from there. As long as you verified the part #s and your truck then your fine. After installing just give it like 15-30 mins for the radio options to update and your good. They send that email to cover there end because once you install the parts they...
I bought mine from Chryslerpartsgeeks.com. You can find a new truck online at a dealer, compare enter stack to match yours and copy the vin down. Then Call Ram parts guy and ask him for the radio, center stack and outer ac bezel #s.
I bought all parts from chryslerpartsgeeks.com. They are a Ram dealer in NJ. Great prices. Took close to 2 weeks to get them due to having them shipped to the dealer and then to me. Most likely all parts need to be ordered from Mopar warehouse.
Oh that’s sucks. Yeah I found my new radio wasn’t packed all that great either from warehouse. I was surprised it wasn’t damaged. My back up camera and steering wheel controls along with compass took about 15 minutes to work properly.
Finally done. Just installed brand new 8.4 non nav, new center stack bezel and AC outer bezel. Works perfectly. CarPlay, camera, compass, Siri, all 100%. Takes about 15 mins for all features to activate. Loving it. $1230 shipped brand new online from dealer. Crazy to think infotainment charges...
Ok so I swapped out my 5.0 to a used 8.4 radio with the correct bezels I bought on eBay. After plugging everything in and entering the theft code all features worked except I had no sound. The volume numbers move but no sound from the replacement radio. I rechecked connections and waited a few...
This should be for the 1500 non nav 8.4 w/CarPlay
this is for the 2500/3500 non nav 8.4 w/CarPlay
there are 10 T15 screws for the center stack to mount to the outer bezel and 4 Philips screws for the radio. I believe you need a $10 bracket to mount the radio to the center bezel also. Not...
the center stack part # is the pic you posted. You will need a new outer bezel, part # is above. Radios have a couple of different part #s depending on 1500 or 2500/3500 I believe.
Thanks for posting. Nice to know after being told by multiple dealer parts people it prolly won’t work. Approximately how much were all the parts new? CarPlay, compass, camera all 100%?
If the radio is used then you will need a code to unlock which you can get online. You will have to replace both inner and outer bezels to fit the new 8.4 screen. Make sure you match the correct center bezel since there are multiple configurations. I haven’t been able to verify if a new radio...
Anyone do a 5 to 8.4 swap with a new radio, not refurbished or used? I have been trying to locate a used 8.4 for a decent price but they are more then buying new online. All the posts I have read without any issues are with used/refurbished units. Going to pull the trigger on a new one for $701...
If you watch infotainments video on installation he states that 2020 Ram 2500 HD all have the satellite antenna and if you have the 5.0 radio with satellite it’s a direct swap not needing the adapter. You should see a mustard color plug in the back of your old radio. Should be plug and play...
Supposedly the screw and tabs don’t line up correctly with the new center and existing outer vent bezel but can’t confirm. I will try after Christmas at some point. Had my dealer pull part #s off a new 2020 tradesman 2500 for radio, center bezel and outer vent bezel.
radio=68399198AF which is...
