Under the entry for VTA, should we add that some configurations may have two hood ajar monitoring settings and both need to be set to ‘yes’?
CBC Features: Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) Hood Ajar Monitoring 1 - Yes
CBC Features: Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) Hood Ajar Monitoring 2 - Yes
Ok. This is EXACTLY how my config file looked before I installed the patch file that Alexey sent me.
Instead of what you see in the image you sent, you should see the following:
Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) Hood Ajar Monitoring 1: Yes
Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA) Hood Ajar Monitoring 2: Yes
Note...
That's great. If you are comfortable doing so, use a text editor to check your settings (you should see both hood ajar monitoring settings set to yes). Or send the file to Alex. He can check the settings and troubleshoot. I sent my config file to him and he replied to me with specific...
Tailgate ajar is a fun and easy mod. I pulled up next to a guy with a Laramie and a bed cover that had his tailgate open the other day (at a stop light). He didn’t know it was open. He needs this mod.
BTW I am running AlfaOBD version 2.3.2.0. I know it handles the hood ajar differently than...
Mine didn’t work right away either. I cycled the truck on and off—which was what I think actually fixed it as sometimes these changes take a while to update. Another clue was that after I cycled it, my Uconnect screen took longer to load and asked me to confirm the disclaimer—something it only...
Hi seansmd,
I set the alarm, left the window open, put the key fobs 60 ft away, and then reached through the window and pulled the hood release....then ran 60 ft to get the key fobs to turn it off hahahaha.
I think the easiest way is to get the AlfaOBD update and see if both (two) "hood ajar monitoring" settings exist. Just set them to "yes".
BTW--after I made the change, it did not work until I restarted the truck.
Hello all. Please read if you have added or plan to add the Vehicle Theft Alarm (VTA).
In several configurations, for example if you have eTorque and remote start, you likely have two hood ajar switches (see image). Both of these need to be set to monitor hood ajar (in the BCM) or the alarm...
Question.
If you have both switches (like I do with eTorque and remote start), you will likely have the following two entries in your config file.
Hood Ajar Switch State: Not Ajar
Right Hood Ajar Switch State: Not Ajar
You might also have two of the same entries for the Vehicle Theft Alarm...
Thanks frisby5,
I assume it goes off when you open the doors?
I sent the question about the hood ajar monitoring to Alexey the alfaODB developer. There is a lot of detail I could write, but in short my truck has two hood switches due to eTorque. There are two settings for hood ajar switch...
Thank you.
I also get the hood ajar indication on my center dash cluster.
I'm actually not sure if opening the hood with alarm activated/armed will trip it. I can't find anyone or any other resource that mentions this feature. Although you'd think it would given the setting is specific to VTA.
