Falken Wildpeaks AT4w vs HT 02 , possibly Rubitreks

After 6 years and 56k miles, my OEM AT3Was are finally getting close to needing replacement. They still have good tread depth, but the edges are showing wear, and I’d like fresh rubber before this winter. Given their excellent performance, I’m having another set put on at Discount Tire this...

Super Low Mileage with 2022 RAM 1500 Limited

@Txram1500L - I've tracked the mileage on my 2019 Laramie Longhorn with Fuelly since the first fillup. It's loaded (see signature) with everything available at the time except the engine block heater. My payload is only 1069 lb...and this was years before the multi-function tailgate was...

    Rear Brake moan

Mine’s done this since new (before and after the TSB was performed). It’s hit-or-miss for me on whether it’s loud (after it’s rained) or less so. I also get a light squeal when hot (Texas hot) and braking with light to moderate pressure. Super light or heavy braking doesn’t do it. So I have both...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

There are now approximately 70 pages of "armchair engineering" in this thread. It's been entertaining at times and petty a little too often. The bottom line, I think, is that we'll all find out how reliable the new engine and its variants really are over the next 3-5 years. I'm (once again)...

2019 1500 Mild Hybrid Battery Failure

My understanding is that all 5th-gen V6 engines (since 2019) are eTorque-equipped. The eTorque system is covered under the 8 year / 80K mile federal emissions warranty. I haven't had to get into this with mine, so I can't speak to the battery. Any extended warranty (even my Mopar Lifetime...

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Sure, but an XLT or Lariat probably gets even better mileage than a King Ranch or Platinum.

New 2024 Ford F-150 First Look: If It Ain't Broke, Add Stuff

Sure (mine’s a Generac), but I could see the use case for an occasional remote hunting/fishing cabin. I wouldn’t pay $10K extra for it, but it might be (for example) one of the side benefits of a future PHEV, as battery tech improves.

Those were likely two higher-optioned (thus heavier) Fords than your Ram, based on the trims you mentioned. My Longhorn will never beat those numbers unless I reset the computer while doing 62 mph and stay there.

    Hurricane in a hd

A detuned Hurricane serving as a generator for electric motors that would do the heavy lifting (RamCharger-style) in an HD would be doable…presuming you’re not worried about crazy technical complexity. A diesel-electric hybrid might make more sense.

    Question about Ramcharger

And really most parts from 2019+, aside from fascia pieces.

    Husky Flaps Clear Film

I did, but I don’t recall whether they did much. But I’ve had ‘em on for five years now without issue.

Who here is NOT happy with their e-Torque system?

Even when you're not towing, T/H can boost the "fun factor" by disabling MDS, disabling automatic Aero mode on air suspensions, and significantly modifying transmission shift points! I even use it for engine braking on long downgrades in traffic, just so I don't have to ride the brakes.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

No, there’s some truth to this. You know that when you drain fluids, regardless of procedure used, you never quite get everything out. So if you just blindly add whatever the manual says is capacity, you’ll overfill the oil, trans fluid, etc. I’m sure most of us check that - at least the first...

    Ram sales down

Knock on wood, but I picked up a Lifetime MaxCare in late ‘18, right before they were discontinued, for my 5th gen (2019 Longhorn). It’ll pay for itself if one “big” item fails. But I guess I need to look at it as a big ticket insurance policy rather than a typical warranty.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

I was thinking more along the lines of the various Chevy small blocks I had over the years…not so much the 5.0, which wasn’t so special, but the 5.7, 6.0, and 8.1 I had in various vehicles were all solid in the right application.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

For what it’s worth, I’m fairly certain very few HEMI drivers “need” its “weak” 395 HP very often…if ever. Some of us remember when most trucks had V8s in the 225-250 HP range, and somehow we all got by!

My 2019 Limited became a zombie overnight :-D

Sometimes the battery has just enough juice left to deploy a step. Hopefully you started with potting it on a charger to eliminate that concern!

    Dumb question- 4 Auto

Auto 4WD is always “safe” to use. 4Hi should be reserved for known slippery conditions.

    BFG KO2 vs Falken AT3W

I was just wondering if they’ll release an “AT4Wa” for the OEM Off-Road Group, like they did with the 3-series. I’m still running my AT3Wa tires at almost 50k, and they’re about 10lb lighter per tire than the regular AT3s.

Anyone getting a 2025 with the I6 Hurricane?

Sorry…you’ll need to “show your work” to receive credit for this answer. Otherwise, it’s an unsubstantiated claim that fails to demonstrate any engineering knowledge of the engine’s design. One could even label this as trolling…
