I’m in that position too I think. I asked the dealer if we can just replace with a solid unit and I’d be willing to sign disclosures saying that it’s not the same part etc etc. they have to get district manager approval to do that. I also mentioned to him that there may have been something in...
Well wel well. Checked this morning and my cracks are back. This is the second unit that was installed / replaced in May. Took to dealer who started the process but the window is 3-4 weeks away from delivery. Dealer confirmed there’s a TSB so at least all of our struggles have amounted to...
On the FB page someone posted that a bulletin was released today regarding the cracked window frame issue. Has anyone seen it?

Keep an eye on the 3rd brake light seal. The light had to be removed in order to replace the window. Sometimes they don’t snug it down enough. Worse, that seal is so weak that it doesn’t do well being reinstalled. Most of us replaced that seal with a rubberized solution from Amazon or Lowe’s...
It’s pretty good It moves a bit but it would take a bunch of effort to rip offf. May not stop a pro thief from taking it off but should thwart some dumbass kid from screwing with it

Actually the best stuff to use would be the butyl sealant glass shops use when installing windshields! Just dawned on me.

Good luck. Just make sure to tape the area off really well to keep the sealant off paint. Also make sure you really do a good job filling that gap. Any little openings along the glass or body will still let water in. Use the razor as a squeegee should really push the sealant all the way against...
The dealer will hardly touch it. They may remove the rear seats and some trim but most dealers export the work to a glass shop. It’s that shop that you should worry the most about.

If you’re careful you can run a small bead of black RTV into the small channel created by where the window meets the body. I’m talking about the horizontal gap not the vertical gap you see when looking at the window from
The back. Tape off the body and the top edge of the glass and carefully put...
The part is probably the same....take it to dealer and have it replaced. They may want to do a water test but insist that the replace it regardless since it’s a window frame crack. They’ll have to get approval from FCA because an outside glass shop will do the work. If the dealer actually can do...
It’s a unique screw that does not have any flat sides. It’s an offset circle indent and the key creates leverage to turn it. True, any thief walking around with a set of pliers can get in but the odds of a thief having tools with him might be slim. This is probably designed to keep the punk kid...
In case you need confirmation....the raised circle on the black part sits in the filler neck opening and the red part slides around the lip on the cap and gets tightened Works great

Once installed does it still move around a tiny bit around the neck? When I tightened mine down I’m still able to rotate the cap, but can’t pull it off at least.
