I agree, and from the first time I laid eyes on that patent drawing, I thought to myself the ramps should have been in longitudinal pockets completely underneath the bed floor. I guess maybe that's why Ram never went forward with it, i.e. they patented a less-than-ideal design in the first...

A friend of mine had Icon shocks on his 2015 Ram 4x4, they were a constant problem for him. He eventually ditched the Icons. His 2020 Rebel has Bilsteins, those have been trouble-free. Sean Holman on Truck Show Podcast nearly always recommends Bilstein - he's an extremely knowledgeable...

One very significant confounding factor is that no one parses out the age of the EV fleet vs the age of the ICE fleet. You should never trust anyone's "EV vs ICE fires" data unless they have stated the average age of each fleet in addition to the number of vehicle fires per 100 vehicles in a...

Now you're getting sensitive/testy, for no reason. I said to each their own, which is a neutral statement, and true. And, yes, because by your own description of yourself you (a) have no use for the MFT, and (b) you don't like the way he MFT looks, then you are, by definition, not the...

For me, I find it so useful, and as I've posted elsewhere in this thread, a lower-back-saver as well, so I actually PREFER seeing that seam in the tailgate - because I know how useful it is and how much joy it brings to me knowing it's there for me to use. Like being a member of the cool kids...

You can get a retractable corner step or the retractable center step, I believe.
.
IMO, the MFT with no retractable step is perfectly adequate, even preferrable. When I need to get up into the bed I find it MUCH easier to open the left-side MFT barn door, keep my left hand on the left (open)...
I obtained my Mopar factory warranty from Jason Edmonson ([email protected]), you can see in my signature which warranties I bought and what I paid in 2020. I haven't had to use my warranty yet, so I can't vouch for how well it will works, but buying it from Jason Edmonson...

I agree, Vern Diesel's use-case is the perfect match for the EcoDiesel. And I'm not trying to minimize WXman's experience at all -, both experiences are fully legitimate and worth knowing about. I just think that whenever a fairly strong statement either for or against something is stated...

Re: "I'm convinced that the only reason most guys haven't had issues is because very few people have lots of miles on these yet"
>>>I guess you're referring specifically to the Gen-3 EcoDiesel? Because Vern Diesel here on 5th Gen Rams would dispute your statement - he has over 300,000 miles on...

Absolutely zero problems with my 2020 Laramie Longhorn 4x4 EcoDiesel. Never once back to the dealer for any warranty issue or complaint by me. Battery went dead once when I left it parked for a month, but that was more my fault than the truck's fault.
.
If by chance you do take one off the...

Well, if it wasn't for the EcoDiesel, you wouldn't have the GM 3.0 L Duramax. Think of the 3.0 L Duramax as your "Gen 4 EcoDiesel" ; -)
.
Seriously, though, I was listening to Season 2, Episode 27 of the Truck Show Podcast a couple of weeks ago, the guy being interviewed was Scott Birdsall...
As "A-Team" mentioned above, the first thing to do is disconnect the battery for at least an hour, preferably two hours. Reconnect battery and leave the vehicle alone for another two hours. Drive it for an hour, preferably on the highway, turn it off and leave it alone for another two hours with...

Ram has had more infotainment issues recently because of the switch to Uconnect-5, but they'll get on top of the issues. Uconnect-5 is a TOTAL overhaul compared to Uconnect-4.
.
Uconnect-4 was based on the QNX operating system, an old, well-proven, well-honed, ultra-reliable operating system...

Yeah, I know, throwing multiple codes, and especially if yours is running in "limp home mode" makes it seem catastrophic. But with these fully-computerized vehicles, with multiple individual computers trying to talk to each other, and the slow nature of automotive computer updates, sometimes...
Thank you for the coverage of the MFT, you mentioned all of the things I love about mine. My 2020 MFT is the best $995US I've ever spent.

The ability to swing open the left side and use the dropped center section of the rear bumper as a step, and placing one's left hand on the open gate to...

Could also be an incomplete or interrupted reboot sequence after an unannounced OTA update. I've never had one single issue with this truck until I had three weird things happen a few weeks ago (1) After shutdown an igniter of some sort (a foot or two forward of the rear axle) clicked on & off...
