Transmission is the original 8 speed no repairs shifts quick & firm. I have changed the fluid 5 times 3 times with filter.

Doubt it as you also have the 8 gallon DEF tank under there. I routinely go 350 miles with a TT (from Dayton OH to St Louis) on the lil 26 gallon tank. And 600 miles with just the truck. Its adequate and with diesel you have the option of adding an in bed tank.

I would suggest the GDE tune especially for a short commute. My tuned 3.92 gear Ram only gets 24 mpg ish at 80. Diesels do like being run warm for an assortment of reasons.
