3 Truths:
- The Gen5 ram looks even better in person than it does in photos, and the look will grow on you in time
- The ZF transmission is very smooth shifting
- The stock exhaust is too quiet for the people used to an aftermarket unit
1 Lie:
- The Dash fuel gauge when it tells you the tank...
Quick question to save some of the other guys time who know better than I - do you have the offroad package on your truck?
Air or spring suspension setup?
Saw on a guy's youtube video, his opinion was that putting them upside down would drill/tab/rub the cones into the hood as they flapped into the wind. That was his theory.
I went and found it, it's near the end of this video:
I'll be honest, I found that compelling! I stuck with the factory...
Today I did some measurements out of curiosity, and for science.
Vehicle: 2019 Rebel, spring suspension. November 2018 build date.
Shocks: Falcon shocks, medium setting.
No other suspension mods, no spacers, no springs, sway-bars, nothing.
Tires: Stock sized Toyo AT3s, LT275/70/R18. On stock...
Hmm. as much as I'm a little bit of an "air bag skeptic" (Firm believer in rake), I do like the falcon's enough that I'd rather go to level, put on the tires I want, and then use airbags in a pinch when needed. I'd literally rather use airbags and the shocks vs mess with them too much.
Hmm. So I will agree on that last point! While I wanted to retain some rake? I really felt that the stock rake was a liiiiiiiiiiittle much. I'm someone who believes in retaining it, but it was a little much.
So here's medium-setting from the other side:
I'm thinking if I put it in "level"...
That magnaflows have such a nice sound.
I'm a borla Fan, I LOVED the XR1 I had bolted into the old rebel. But, I knew one day it would be too loud.
On the Gen5/Gen2 Rebel, Magnaflow system. Really has a "distance thundercloud" bassy rumble to it. Some days I wish it was louder! But it is a...
I gotta say thank you 2 gentlemen, I've been thinking of running either 295/70R18s or 285/75/R18s (TFLTruck ran this size on their Rebel), and it's very neat to see one guy running one set, one running the other! It looks like if I run the truck in the "Level" setting, I could fit either.
BUT...
Interesting, so it's either level or at the "heavy equipment setting"!
I think when I get new tires, the odds of me going to a bigger set are damn near 100%
I "hate" you guys, it's like every time I log in to the forum, I lose money! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
For those curious about what Falcon shocks look like in the "medium" (not-levelled) setting, here ^
And I'm realizing now I've actually been driving Rebels now for 5 years. Through some blizzards, through the end of the world, etc etc. I've been spending pretty much all of my daily driver time...
So I recently had to haul a bunch of dirt, a little less than a pallet of dirty gardening stuff.
I had the shocks in payload setting "3", in retrospect, 2 might have been fine. I'm thinking 2 might be the right setting for heavy payloads, with 3 being "heavy payload/towing". I'm still...
Man I like them! In one or two of the threads here I've got some really long posts but. Trying to condense them all into one:
- I'm not someone who was looking for a "level" truck as I need to haul some payload regularly. HOWEVER I felt the rake was a little much on the stock Rebel after the...
Not gunna lie, I'm happy to hear that!
If I can fit 3/4in of rear spacer, I might then do that to keep rake and go up to big tires!
I asked Falcon about what tires I can fit and if I can use a rear spacer, they more or less said, "hey do some test fits on your end and see what you get."...
I have a set but I'm currently running in the medium setting. I end up having to haul firewood and other heavy things on a pretty regular basis, keeping rake is a must for me - and the payload dial is a big plus!
Thusfar I like them quite a bit
Right now I'm starting to think that in the...
