If this pushes my delivery into December, prime incentive month of the year, I'm okay with it. But I am sorry for everyone who has been waiting much, much longer than I have to this point and will have once all is said and done.
To an extent, I see their logic. But it breaks down with the Build And Price feature still existing for a model that can't be "built" and is unlikely to produce many, if any, dealer matches given the realities of the market. That said, simply pull it down would cause a firestorm of questions, as...
Nice! My first in over a decade, my first ever factory order, and only my second truck ever. Super excited and happy to have found this place full of other excited people painfully waiting for their fun!
Maybe their definition of "started" is different than ours? Started putting things into bins. Started planning out a build order. Started making sure all the bathrooms were fully stocked for when they actually start building trucks.
Just checked with my dealer and my order is still in D (no surprise given my late July order) but he said they don’t have any in D1 yet. He said they didn’t start taking orders as early as some others though - Left it at that. The wait continues.
I enjoy the posts where people share their excitement for what the got, and are waiting for. Not seeing the value (pardon the pun) in all the posts about how much cheaper X got it than Y. It’s my choice to be here and read what I read, I just hate coming in excited to see everyone talk through...
It's no skin off my nose either way, so I'm just asking because I'm curious... but why is the 10th anniversary edition being tracked separately? It's just an option package like Night Edition, which is not broken out (nor am I suggesting it should be).
Will you be tracking actual production dates, actual shipment/delivery dates on the chart as well, once those become known? Even more of a logistical nightmare, but might make prediction better for the later orders? Doing so would also make it easier to see if they are clumping by color or...
There is another sticky thread here on the forum with the link/instructions . Once your truck goes into production you can enter your VIN and see your build sheet.
You ordered on 7/19 and don't have a VIN yet? That's a long time. And the POC just lists the individual options and packages selected, not what each package actually consists of. Or any of the standard features your truck will have. For those things you'll be waiting a while, either until RAM...
I'm actually hoping for December (VIN received 7/31). Best chance of good incentives will be December so if it means waiting an extra week to get some/any more money off, I'm good with that. May be a dry December for incentives this year given market conditions, but again if there is a chance of...
No, I didn’t have the tech group. Only thing I can think is that because I also have the Night Edition, which also includes the HK system, maybe some money came off the Level 1 because of the duplication in item. But no idea really.
Maybe interesting: When I build out my order on Nada today, the invoice price of Limited level 1 equipment group is $2,756. The invoice price of that option on my order placed 7/30 is $2,112. Nada also still has the Tech package and Safety packages listed, so it's not that the recently moved...
As an option group, it is no longer available. This goes back to the idea of simplification - why have two options packages that are largely the same, creating angst in those buying/ordering, when you can eliminate (the cheaper) one and generally appease more people.
I agree with your reading, except that if the goal is to achieve simplicity, and it says that this applies to the 2022 model year - none of which have actually (we think) started being built yet, it doesn't make a ton of sense to simplify the ordering but keep the production complicated by not...
