Shop I went to here in Katy said the same $200 for the whole swap. I paid them $90 for the muffler and then bought the delete pipes. The shop said it was a pain to get the tailpipes to line up after removing the resonators. I figured with the delete pipes I's have the option to easily weld back...
The resonators make a huge difference in sound quality. Or at least they did on the Borla Atak Crate Muffler in the videos above. It also reduced/eliminated the drone when the truck goes to 4CYL.
I'd say if you want loud with minimal to no drone go with the Borla crate muffler and resonator delete. A bit pricier than muffler delete, but I love the sound myself.
With resonators
Resonators removed
With most cars/trucks this can be done from the comfort of your own home...I'm not sure that's the case with the Ram, but I'm sure someone will chime in.
Well that's stupid. Although after talking to a buddy who works at the dealership here in Houston it seems that even changing tire size is...
Yea, I already have links and 285/55R22 Nitto Grapplers installed. Daystars and control arms hopefully beginning of May. Ride isn't too bad, but I'm sure will be better once everything is installed.
Are ORP trucks 1" higher front and rear, or only front?
My truck is currently at about 23.75" front in normal mode which would say 24.75 in OR1 and higher in OR2.
Are you completely level, or did you leave a lot of rake?
So my idea would be to do a 2.5/0.5 F/R level using the links. Would really like to do a bit more, but I know the front angles won't look good going much higher...or at least that's my guess. I did have a 3/1 level on my Tundra in the past and everything looked ok, but the control arm made...
Looking forward to getting mine. Have to make a drive here in a few minutes and would have been nice to have this and try it out...too bad I get it tomorrow and with all this COVID cr@$ I am not driving much of anywhere. Oh well, I'm sure it'll all be over soon and I can use this daily on my 60...
What are your measurements from center of wheel hub to fender?
To confirm, your truck started an inch higher in the front and rear than a normal truck, correct?
Can you get pictures of how close the control arm is to the air strut in normal, OR1 and OR2 (if you have OR2...I think the ORP...
Do the offroad edition vehicles even have OR2? I thought they were just programmed to ride in what would be OR1 for a normal air truck and then could go up only 1" from there.
Thanks for the pictures, do you know if it makes contact with the air strut when at full extension, i.e. when jack up and allowed to hang freely? This is probably too much to ask since I'm sure you haven't jacked the truck up. Any clunks or noise going over speed bumps at any speed, potholes...
Completely forgot to update everyone. I have not taken more videos since the delete pipes are still at my office downtown and I am now waiting on some 5" tips as well.
After driving with the truck it is definitely loud with city driving, but in my opinion not overly loud. The neighbors did...
Can you get a picture in normal and offroad 2 of the upper control arm and its distance from the air strut and angles? Trying to figure out if I can go a full 2.5" level with the front and then raise the rear .5" or if I would be doing a lot of damage to things and putting things at a high risk...
Are you sure that tire size is right? I want to get my Daystars put on badly. Have them here at the house, but really debating whether I need/should get the ReadyLift Control Arms and modify to work with air suspension before install. Don't want to have to pay twice and seems the control arms...
