This is an old thread, but did you ever figure out what was causing this?
I have an idle surge when in Park on cold starts. I'll try to get a video of it and start my own thread if no answer here. It will also surge when in drive and can even surge the truck forward when it happens and my foot...
Pictures of your HelmHoltz resonators? What length did you use? Were you able to eliminate all drone in V8 and 4-Cyl? I figure you would need two Helmholtz in order to eliminate for both.
You will be fine without a tune, but don't expect any gains without one either.
Personal opinion is even if there were gains to be had from tuning with just a CAI I wouldn't void my powertrain warranty for them.
IF YOU GET A TUNE ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU CAN AFFORD TO FIX ANY AND ALL ENGINE ISSUES...
All good. Thanks for the reply anyway. I thought about the 305s, but I went up in height both front and rear when I installed the DayStars, links and control arms. The 305s would have looked small on the truck I think aside from the added width which would have been nice...couldn't bring myself...
Not sure on that. The width is what I would worry about there. I know people are running 305/40R22 or 305/45R22...can't remember which size it is, but those are about 12" wide and had heard of minor rub in entry/exit at full lock in reverse. It truly only rubs on a very small part of the wheel...
Fitment with just the links was good. A little rub in full lock reverse...nothing a little (and I mean very little) trimming of the inner fender liner wouldn't solve.
Ride quality definitely went down when I only had the links. I have since installed the DayStar spacers and some upper control...
For $60 this would be a pretty awesome aesthetic upgrade for the truck. I may have to look into this...although I should probably stop spending money on the truck at some point haha. I also have a pretty large list of items I am looking at including the tailgate light bar, sequential running...

I have this. Will work with cargo rails and is very low profile and nice for $200.

This is the one. It is a little finicky on remote starts, but a quick unplug and replug and it works like a charm. I love it so far. Now just need to buy a usb switch...
About half the age here and have several CDs...somewhere...haven't really used CDs since the first iPod came out. I would agree that I cannot here the difference. I would also imagine that the exhaust on my truck would take away any noticeable gain from using CDs. Now I do know that flak is much...
According to Lowes these are considered Nylon Washers rather than a "spacer". Most likely the screw aisle. Not sure the exact size needed, but here is an example of what I found. Please post the exact product you buy and what you find to be the correct spacer size. I am looking to put this light...
Found my issue. The installer just literally didn't put the nut back onto the drivers side end link...back on now and no popping noises. Now I just need to get the truck to sit level. I am .5" low on the passenger side compared to drivers side.
Sounds like your dealership is a bunch of D****. Sounds like you just need to torque down the sway bar end links to 65 ft/lb and you'll be good to go. I think I need to do the same after my leveling kit was installed Wednesday. Not trying to do it myself though...I paid a man for a job...he's...
