$944 is a bit too pricey for an exhaust on a truck for me personally. I wouldn't bat an eye spending that on a Borla system for my previous Camaro...which I did and loved the system. I am just not seeing it being worth $944 for a sound increase and possible 1mpg. I would however spend a total of...
Did anyone ever figure out if the Borla 400844 is the muffler that was put on this truck? If so, looks like they also have the S-Type available at the same price Borla 400843.
Thanks!
I'd also like to hear this setup. Seems it may be something worth looking into. Muffler can be purchased under $250 on Amazon with free 1-day shipping. Not sure what an exhaust shop would charge to put it in and remove resonators. I'm assuming $50?
It will not void the warranty as it’s just a muffler swap. anything that messes with the catalytic converters will void warranty, but muffler and resonators shouldn’t.
You want to fit 38's or 39's on an air ride? If so, then I think you are out of luck. I believe there are a couple 6 inch lifts which maintain the factory air ride, but not sure you're getting that big a tire under them.
For a simple level you need leveling links and a Day Star spacer kit and...
Can anyone out there with the Carven, Outlaw or Straight Piped get me the frequency emitted from the exhaust while cruising at 70MPH both in V8 and 4CYL? I think they have apps for iPhone and Android that allow for this to be read.
Yea, Carven has a direct fit muffler replacement available, but not the catback. The direct fit seems to sound different.
Removing the cats will most definitely void the warranty and require a tune which will void the entire power train portion of the warranty. Not a good route to go unless...
Carven's full catback is no longer available or I would be thinking of going this route. They are also said to drone like none other.
Sounds like it's not too bad if it is just on the quiet side at cruise and idle. I wonder if they are designed to be run on a catless crate motor? Removing the...
Not sure the picture shows up, but this is the only crate muffler that shows on Borla's site as 3" piping. Also shows as not universal and that the 3" version is for 500+ HP motors. Maybe just not enough flow through the muffler? Link to Chevy 350 Borla crate muffler video below.
If just an exhaust leak or the weep holes on the resonators then I don’t think they shafted you. Depends how it sounds though I guess. I could be wrong and they have one in 3” for a dodge crate motor, but I don’t see it on the site and they show them as “not universal”. There is a guy on YouTube...
That is one of the crate muffler mufflers. Looks like one for a Chevy or ford crate motor since they don’t make 3” in/out for the dodge crate motor. Maybe you have an exhaust leak?
Do you happen to have the part number for the muffler they sold you? Looks like the only way to get an ATAK muffler is to go with their "crate" mufflers. They are supposed to be tuned to specific crate motors and eliminate drone on those specific motors.
Do you have any drone with this muffler...
I hear you there. I almost always have the music cranked up, but for drives with the family I'd rather be able to easily have a conversation. Guess I will just need to get this whole Helmholtz resonator thing figured out and bite the bullet on a muffler setup.
Will not cause any issues with emissions in Texas. As always, the removal of original equipment or install of aftermarket components can cause Ram to void your warranty...I would find it highly unlikely though that the dealer could put any type of failure as being caused by the replacement of...
