But in essence nothing bad that will happen to the truck if modded correct? just a guidance from the manufacturer to say if you take this vehicle from us don't exceed xxx lbs and the whole thing should work as expected and certified by us type of thing?
Why do we have to worry much about payload ? Tacomas as stated will carry much more weight than what some of you are thinking to have mods wise and they do so with a whimpy V6, i know i've had two :) Hoping not to rub the dudes who are into towing and what not cause i swear that's not my idea...
I kow they changed my rear pistons and they showed them to me, from what i remember the rears were nor linear from the factory and they needed that to valve them a certain way with their double flutter stack.,they changed my rebound settings, also tuned out the valving on the shocks for my...
It depends of what you're trying to accomplish. Longer progressive coils will allow you run longer shocks and carry more weight with less sag. Good for offroading, overlanding etc. The ride quality is another added bonus. Maybe you want to keep the extra height and tow a trailer and and not sag...
Love them. I've run many different 2.5 COs and shocks in the past In different applications, mostly Toyotas from Icon, Radflo, SAW, and now Kings in the RAM. My truck is in the dirt a lot so I love everything the offroad world have to offer, the pinstripes, all the different setups out there...
I had the Icons 1.5" before the Claytons 2.5" Both seem close in terms of the weight they can support. They're progressive so their spring rate varies with weight. you can't exactly predict how much sag you'll have like you can with linear but as opposed to linear rates, Icon have a much heavier...
So the 300 and 500 lbs figures above have the 200+ extra from the topper ? if so then you're showing topper +300 for 500lbs total, and topper +500 lbs for 700 lbs more than stock in there ?
If you don't have ORP, then Icon 1.5" or Eibach 1" E30-27-011-02-02 will work out for you. According to Icons you should see a 0.5" more than ORP so technically you'll see 1.5" out of the Icons. The Eibach will be the equivalent of the Mopar ORP, i'd think also with a little more spring rate...
Crank the driver side one full turn more than the passenger. We need that to counter act the gas tank weight.. If you measure all four corners the passenger side is typically higher so we push the front driver side one full turn higher, which has the effect of lowering the opposite corner (rear...
Add another 400-500lbs and see where you end up. Clayton's will firm up with more weight. I just don't know at how much weight we hit the 3rd rate. I run 500lbs of extra weight at all times (Steel bumper, full wheel/tire mounted in bed, swing out carrier, softopper, recovery gear/ tools etc) and...
That's because whoever did the install forgot to make your life easier turning the collar until the screw was facing towards the outside of the truck. You'll have to take that CO out and adjust out of the truck.make sure the screw will face the outside for next time.
Your arms motion ratio is 1.6 so every full turn in your adjuster is .2" of lift. Turn 5 times and you get 1"
Count the number of open threads you have above the adjusters. You may want one more open thread showing in the front driver to account for the gas tank weight on the driver side.
I think it may work if you don't offroad the truck, and as long you don't have ORP and you're not using anything else to lift. but why not do 5100's at 2" instead ? much safer and even cheaper than the RL 3.5 kit.
In any case this is an example RL 2" + UCA,
Don't know if the top spacer that...
Top spacers are for the most part not the best idea with IFS. You can use a small 1/8 or 1/4" thickness tops to correct for a trim issue. Why ? You're phisycally shifting down the mounting point at the top of your strut assembly virtually entending the lenght of your struts. That in essence is...
Asides from showing the arms at ride height droop the wheels in full until they're not touching ground then show the angles . You can lift the truck from the front cross member to test. the angle should be ok at 2" and more likely ok at max with 5100's since they have stock length But The angle...
What are your expectations out of the shocks? They are better than your traditional struts/shocks in the sense they are valved with a little more offroad in mind so they're firmer than stock but in good ways (Sportier on the street) and offer more control offroad compared to the standard shocks...
Bilstein Catalog doesn't show a 5100 for the Rebels but people are running the normal 24-232203 without the 5100 lower seat adapter. Set them at #4 and that should leave a little rake in the back, set at #5 you may need a spacer or longer rear coil springs to have some rear rake.
Some seem...
Glad to know they worked out for you as well. Mine still measure out the same as a few months ago when i installed them. I have about 450lbs of extra weight in the back of my truck and they haven't sagged. Best coil springs i've ran in my truck so far. Clayton also have a 3.5" coils same thing...
