Come on now... those never leak.....lol.
There are now aftermarket companies that make them so it’s actually better now (availability wise). For a little while earlier this year, they went on backorder again and dealers were keeping them for service customers only.
To piggyback on other comments, I would recommend the following:
1. Schedule your appointment with your dealer.
2. Contact RamCares before your appointment! Let them know you plan on taking your truck in for the TSB and you want to make sure it is performed.
3. Print out 2 copies of the...
No rattles and everything that I can see was put back in place. The temperature outside reached 90 degrees yesterday and I could tell a noticeable difference in the amount of air flow (better) and the AC was noticeably colder.
Before the TSB was performed, Max A/C flow was pretty pathetic...
Ok I just picked up the truck and I definitely feel a difference with the amount of air coming through the vents. Still not as good as other vehicles (my 500 Abarth blows way harder...) and it definitely felt colder. However, it's only 80 degrees right now and cloudy so the true test will be...
3rd times a charm! Heater box came in and it isn’t broken! Yay! I’m being told Thursday the truck should be ready. Trying to remember what my truck even looks like....
Did that salesman also say your TRX has a turbocharger? Lol. Seems like a salesman should know what gas it takes or at least pay attention to what it says on the door!
congrats on the TRX though! Such a dope truck
Well I can tell you that the dealer is replacing the heater box on mine as they have ordered two of them, both arriving damaged. I am going on my 3rd week without my truck, waiting for parts. Apparently, another one is supposed to arrive tomorrow but we will see. My case manager contacted me...
Update:
Ok so they looked at the truck yesterday and today I received word that the special order parts arrived. I asked if it was for the TSB and my advisor said yes. I also asked him if the technician confirmed the issue or if he just went with the TSB and said "Well it says to do it so...
Well scratch that.... 6 cars were still ahead of mine so now we are looking at Monday likely when I’m up. It’s getting a little ridiculous regarding the waiting game....
Update:
Dropped it off last Saturday for a Monday 8am appointment. I was told 3-4 days to look at it once it was dropped off. It's Friday at 4:30pm and I believe they are finally looking at it today... On a positive note, I had a spray-in bedliner put in while it was sitting there collecting...
It's all about proper wording from the service advisor. I am also a service advisor (not for a dealer) and the fact that the heating element within the steering wheel is not working, that is what needs to be focused on, not the wear. It is likely the advisor stated there was "premature wear"...
