Does anyone know the color, and or code for the painted sections on the Longhorn wheels? It seems to be a metallic gray but I'm not sure. I need to touch up an area around a lug nut where it was scraped at the factory during installation. Any info would be appreciated.
That gives me hope, as I noticed a single droplet of honey colored oil in the same area when changing my oil last week; nothing on the garage floor. Maybe it is in fact, as another member mentioned, grease in the bell housing that his tech cleaned out and the problem was solved.
The smallest diameter tube on my extractor is 1/4" o.d., which is too big as it wont go all the way into the oil pan ( stops right about where the dipstick tube attaches to the engine block). I found some 4mm o.d. 3mm i.d. PTFE tubing on e-bay and it goes all the way into the oil pan.
Lockerdown makes a lower profile console safe for the "limited and Longhorn" that doesnt interfere with the deeper sliding tray in those models. I installed one awhile back, and no issue with the tray hitting the safe.
Just thought I'd post a picture of 2 oil filter wrenches that worked really well for the Ram; both were purchased at Harbor Freight. Now that I relocated the oil filter, I will most likely use a strap wrench.
I installed the pacbrake kit a few days ago and so far, so good. Looking over your pictures, I notice the flexable hoses dont seem to touch where they approach the remote filter assembly. Mine do, and I installed a piece of plastic loom to prevent any possible rubbing between the hoses. The next...
I thought that through before going ahead with the purchase and installation. The beauty of this kit is that it can be removed without a trace if the truck ever had to go in for a warranty issue. The remote filter bracket uses existing holes in the frame which was importan, as I did not want to...
I wouldnt use anything other than a damp cloth, as protectants could possibly seep through the thin clear coating that's sprayed on the leather, releasing the adhesive causing the dash to delaminate. JMHO
I had a 14 Sport and now a 19 Longhorn. The oil change was indeed labor intense for sure, and I had been thinking about a oil filter relocation kit when I had the Sport. Five years of changing the oil on the Sport (wrapping the rack in plastic, using a vise grip oil filter wrench and zip lock...
Installed the Pacbrake kit the other day. Thankfully I have a large arsenal of tools as it is a tight fit tightening some of the fittings. Crows feet with socket extensions are a must. Overall, the installation went well and took an additional 3/4 quart of oil.
It's been a year this month since I purchased my 2019 Longhorn, and with 5,700 miles have added a oil filter relocation kit, changed the oil, and rotated the tires. When removing the Right rear wheel, I discovered the paint is gouged around one of the lug nut holes, most likely when being...
I actually do measure the oil removed, as the pump housing has graduated level indicators on the sides, also, the vehicles I do use it on have the oil filters on top. At some point, I'm going to relocate the oil filter to make it easier to change. That, along with the oil extractor, or a Fumoto...
Definately would make it easier on the Ram for sure. The extraction tube on my pump is the same diameter / width as the dipstick, but seems to get hung up around where the dipstick housing inserts into the engine block. I suppose I could try a smaller diameter tube, but that might make it...
Has anyone changed their oil on the 5.7L and drained it using an oil extraction pump? I have one that I use on my other vehicles, but cannot seem to get the tubing to go all the way down the dipstick tube and into the oil pan. This was the same situation on my 14 Ram. The tube goes in about 3/4...
Mine has not cracked, maybe due to never having opened it? If it were to crack in the future, I would use "flowable" silicone along the top and be done with it.
Last November, I got an awesome deal on my 19 Longhorn; 12k off and just under 28K trade for my 14 Sport CC with 22k miles. I guess I would never find a deal like that again anytime in the near future.
Definately no weld in that area as it's a stamped panel. Most likely a defect in the metal causing it to split when formed, or possibly a damaged press, but then there would be many more in the same condition. That area will have to be mig / gas welded by an experienced tech with attention to...
