Found this video today. I subscribe to a few salvage rebuilder youtubers that have done some exotic cars. I always like seeing vehicles come back from the dead. This appears to the first 5G Ram rebuild video and only has 3k miles.
dont have pics but they work fine, its kinda annoying to take off the vanity light lenses. You need a very fine flathead and will end up marring some of the plastic, but wont notice it much. Supposedly there is a way to take the whole vanity piece off but couldnt figure it out.
sounds like wheel skip, it only happens when the steering wheel is turned hard right? Its a inherit thing in RWD cars when the turning is maxed out. Its a low speed skid because of high steering angle of the front wheels. RWD vehicles have higher steering angles because there is no driveshaft...
do an oil analysis with a Total Base Number (TBN) check and youll see how much oil life you still have left at 3k miles. Its going to be a lot, meaning good oil is being thrown away. Once the TBN drops below a certain level that's when the oil starts losing its ability to resist the acidic...
notice in the manual they say "recommended" not "required" two completely different things from a legality standpoint. Also it says "all operating temperatures". Not all of us operate in all temperatures. Just like how they say 89 octane is "recommended" but 87 is acceptable. Read elsewhere...
the lower weight is primarily driven by mpg standards trying to get every fraction of a mpg they can. Ive seen many times where two generations of vehicles with the exact same engine, the next generation one gets the 0W20 where the previous was 5W30. No other reason other than to game the fuel...
thinner oils at higher temperatures dont protect as well, since they thin out and wont stick to the metal surface as well. Thats why when people track their sportscars they usually put in a thicker oil.
oil selection nowadays has a lot to do with squeezing every drop of mpg from the engine. Thinner oils like 0W-20 give the engine more mpg due to its lower viscosity. Also thinner oils like 0W-20 has to span all the temperature ranges of where these cars are sold so a south texas truck gets...
Changed out the high mount brake light, high mount bed lights, vanity mirror lights, and glove box to LEDs. Not sure if I missed anything else. Limited already has a ton of LED lighting
lot of oil specs now have to do with squeezing every mpg out of the engine, which includes using 0W-20 which runs like water. Since we live in the south I usually run 5W-30 in everything to keep it simple (have 6 family cars to look after). We dont need 0W cold weight since we arent that cold...
Been lurking around for a while, knew I wanted a Ram, then couldnt resist the 15% off MSRP deal. Only been a couple of weeks and already added a 4K dash cam, bed utility group, Tuff Security lock lids for the Ram Bin.
Looks like the buy 2 get $22 off and free keying for both ends tomorrow. The stock picture shows the bin removed but the instructions said if you want to keep the removable bin, youll hvae to do some cutting of the plastic bin...
