Thank you very much I am happy with the way it turned out!! Every where I go I get compliments on it, it’s a get conversation starter and I have met some really cool people because of it.
I did the oil change with the ziplock bag, I put a punch in the bottom of the oil filter and pulled it out after the bag was on and let the punch fall into the bag. Once filter drained I put the second bag on and removed the filter I had very little spillage.
Emblems are relatively cheap rather than trying to reuse them, exemption in my case was the grille emblem as stated they are held on by clips. I took my grille emblem to my paint guy and had him paint them body color then snapped them back in.
Yes things have changed in 49 years. I thought it looked tiny in the side by side photo also. I wish the 68 had the modern suspension. It’s scary fast handles like a 68 lol, I guess that’s why it’s fun to drive.

I love fords,I have a 68 289 total redone that I did 30 years ago. The car has not seen a wet road in 30 years and looks brand new. I also have a 2017 eco boost they I let my daughter drive lol!! Love your Shelby!!
After looking at many used challengers the R/T the scat packs the hellcats and up it seemed as though it was hard to find a decent scat pack and up at a decent price that hadn’t been crashed multiple times. I guess that’s smiles per gallon and smiles per making insurance claims lol.
I purchased a brother for the Laramie toady, 2018 challenger R/T go mango could quite pull off the scat pac but I believe this will do. It’s being delivered to me tomorrow, I feel like a kid on Xmas eve😀
I have the flares on my truck, you might want to consider using some clear vinyl tape where the rubber touches the truck otherwise they will quickly rub the paint off at the contact point. I used it it’s a little more work but a lot of piece of mind.
So I know this is a 5th gen forum but I’m in the market for some more garage filler. I’m looking for a used or new challenger R/T scat pac. It seems as the used ones are generally on line with a brand new one. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting the best deal possible?
