haven’t had any issues at all towing my 6k TT with a 10k equalizer. If you’ve got the air ride, be prepared to do some tinkering to get it dialed in. You can turn on transport mode to disable the auto-leveling from the setup menu.
Both suspensions are highly rated/reviewed.
If you might mod your suspension or plan to do some aggressive off-roading, go with the traditional. You can do some molding/lifting with the air suspension, but the options are few and when those bags are full the ride stiffens significantly.
If...
Daystar spacers and new links. Didn’t have to trim a thing with the 34s and can hit all levels. I get a little rub on entry/exit (lowest) when I’m backing up an incline and turned full rudder, but that’s not often and it’s very slight.
It’ll depend on the hill, but I pull a TT that’s ~6k lbs loaded and have had the same concerns with the 5.7. We’ve pulled it over the Appalachia’s a couple to times and I just keep telling myself “there’s no warning lights. I’m within spec. I’m within spec. I’m within spec” but those oils temps...
Nah. No real off-roading, just “truck stuff” around the property. It started squeaking on mine really early on, it’s been a long while, but I wanna say within days of the install. Wrapped it with tape (someone here had suggested it) and it’s been silent for the past 18 months or so.

Another option is a couple wraps of thread seal tape around the sway bar. The stuff for water fittings is good, the tape for gas fittings is even thicker. Wrapped mine 18 months or so ago and it’s still working today.
i’m in MD and the detail shops charge between 500 and $600 for a truck.
like the others have said, it is absolutely something you can do yourself. I’ve always enjoyed it, but it’s an all day affair, if it hasn’t been done in awhile, and with the weather turning... I’m toying with the same idea...
Ok... just to be sure nothing’s changed in the last couple decades - I’ve always lubed the seal with some fresh oil and hand tightened the filter (contact + .75 to 1 turn). From then on out no tools other than man hands are required to change the filter.
I haven’t changed the oil on this truck...
I used it once for a back in spot... it worked, but it took an odd angle, requiring some back and forth and additional time, but it got in there. Frankly, i was embarrassed when I got out of the truck. I had to fight the urge to explain to passers by that ”it was the truck, not me.”
Seemed to...
You need to find someone who’s towing a trailer that’s similar in length and weight, with a similarly spec’d truck, and similar load requirements (things like family size, dogs, bed load etc).
Don’t put any stock in what anyone here says who hasn’t towed with a similar setup. The guys who pull...
Oh, on articulation, I don’t think it’s restrictive compare to stock coils, but that’s the best it’s ever going to be. There’s no aftermarket bolt-on replacements, that I’ve seen.
At it’s lowest and highest settings it’s a harsh ride too. the normal setting is great, but you’re not desert...
I’ve got the air on mine. If it weren’t for 2 considerations, I’d skip it.
1) towing/hauling - you’re always level with air, which is nice, but not a need-to-have feature.
2) parking - I’ve got to travel into the city from time to time for work and into the burbs for errands. Being able to...
I can’t argue against efficiency, the tolerances, or even the safety, but I can’t help thinking about the men and women supplanted by all those robots. Scary how much has been automated.
I’ve leveled my ORG truck and fit 34s without any issues. Could fit 35s, but having air suspension, would have to trim the liners else it’d rub at the lowest ride setting at full turn.
Like every towing thread on every forum, this is going to turn into a argument. Before it all falls apart, I’ll share my experience towing a 24’ Forest River/Rockwood Roo 233s hybrid TT with a 1500 limited. In short - it tows like a dream. Pulls great, handles great, and stops ok (I’d say great...
A little before and after... leveled it, added 34” KO2s, hidden winch, and of course the topper. What can’t be seen is the Ram Air intake and a Mopar cat-back with a Borla resonator added just ahead of the muffler... this is key IMO
