Honestly if it's flaking out just have it replaced. If your truck was built before 3/19ish you have older parts that were superceded for a reason.

Yes several thousand miles a trip and it handles them well even with 5 passengers. Enjoy it more than a car or minivan on similar trips.

24' boat+ trailer at 6200lbs and another 300lbs of cargo and 600lbs of passengers in the truck. No drama in hills or highways etc and we tow 3000-5000 miles a year with this setup and its very easy and pleasant. Not super heavy overall but well beyond most suv's.

I don't have the star case (although one does exist). I did post a thread on it last year (and included the new part number although I'm sure it's been superceded again). I'm in IT and had to help the dealer figure it out. I watched him swap the hub and have not had any more issues after that...

There were a a bunch of faulty ones on early build trucks that had the same behaviour. Dealer replaces the hub and then they are good.

If you think it's cylinder deactivation just turn on tow mode for awhile and see if it returns. That should deactivate the deactivation.

Even if you bought a old hk it's a 15 minute software update. Not exactly something worth getting a lesser system for. It's fixed on all newer build models from this year per the service bulletin. The hk is noticeably better than the alpine in these trucks.

Yes with a strong crosswind or heavy wind in general. Otherwise only above 80mph (briefly here and there).

Yes I managed to fix mine finally and the silence is glorious. I did all the clips with felt and then still had a even lighter clicking noise in front and rear. I took down the rear speakers and review them and nothing to do. I believe the edge of the headliner is tapping against the ceiling...

Sounds like bs. My truck in auto 4wd is quiet as a mouse on dry pavement. Sounds like they are confusing 4hi and low with awd

Anybody make any more progress on these issues? For the cab mounts was it a pretty loud noise?
