24' boat+ trailer at 6200lbs and another 300lbs of cargo and 600lbs of passengers in the truck. No drama in hills or highways etc and we tow 3000-5000 miles a year with this setup and its very easy and pleasant. Not super heavy overall but well beyond most suv's.
I don't have the star case (although one does exist). I did post a thread on it last year (and included the new part number although I'm sure it's been superceded again). I'm in IT and had to help the dealer figure it out. I watched him swap the hub and have not had any more issues after that...
Even if you bought a old hk it's a 15 minute software update. Not exactly something worth getting a lesser system for. It's fixed on all newer build models from this year per the service bulletin. The hk is noticeably better than the alpine in these trucks.
Yes I managed to fix mine finally and the silence is glorious. I did all the clips with felt and then still had a even lighter clicking noise in front and rear. I took down the rear speakers and review them and nothing to do. I believe the edge of the headliner is tapping against the ceiling...
