Is it just surface rust??? I'd try spraying and cleaning and then I'd just install. It's not structural at all. Just holds the controller in place. I'm guessing you could tape the controller under the dash as well if you didn't want to use it all.

Nah, not for me. It’s easy to push a button on the screen when you park. I actually like the idea too around parking cart protection and may start doing it. However I’d much rather roll down my windows on a hot day from the fob vs dropping my steps.

You can do that now. Just deploy them when you park. They will stay down. Once you get it and start driving they will self store.

What’s the logic? The come down when you open the door. Why deploy them with the remote??

Interesting question. I'm 6'5" and I think its the best headrest I've ever had in any vehicle. I'm able to raise and tilt it forward to exactly where I want it. Just goes to show you that everyone is different!!

If you have the reclining rear seat, the back will fold down. If not, the entire seat needs to come out. Then it is inside the rear wall behind the carpeting. You will see the holes for it. The carpeting is held on with magnets so that comes right off for easy access.
