If the air coming out of the vents is 55 degrees... yet, the cabin remains at 70+, the problem is not enough airflow. Hacks that lower the temp of the outlet air will have some impact, but it is a band-aid that doesn't fix the underlying problem (and could cause other problems.)
That theory makes sense I'm pretty quick to start the truck and get moving when I get in... so maybe that's why I've noticed it more. It seems like it should be programmed to start the retract cycle upon going into gear instead of on a dumb timer though.
I had power running boards installed at the dealer. When are they supposed to park themselves?
About 90-95% of the time they seem to close immediately after putting the vehicle in gear. However, every so often they will remain deployed as I am driving away until I reach about 10MPH. Is this...
Agreed. I don't think the problem has anything to do with the temps of the AC system. The problem is there is not enough airflow because the vents are too small and/or have poor airflow design throughout the system. This results in not enough volume of cold air flowing throughout the cabin and...
They might, but there isn't a natural place for it to sit like there was in the outgoing model. Maybe in the stock spot for the upgraded sound systems? However, that requires a lot of disassembly for a bolt-in kit.
Thats for the older gen. You can see picture of it installed here: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-k64kynXeSVu/p_206SRAMQ09/Kicker-VSS-SubStage-SRAMCQ09.html
Won't work on the new trucks.
I originally went with CDT 2-ohm 6x9's and JBL 3-ohm dash speakers. The combo was shrill and killed all bass. I swapped out the dash speakers for JL Audio 4-ohm speakers and it was a HUGE improvement. I still had to turn up the BASS on the EQ quite a bit to get it leveled out, but it has a good...
Mine has a nut welded in place, but the nut isn't threaded. So, the bolt doesn't fit into the hole. I think that nut didn't get tapped and QC didn't catch it before it got installed on the truck.
I will have to run a tap through it for it to work. And of course it the one that runs through the...
They are in the right spots... I even uninstalled it and re-installed it. My truck has nuts welded on all the spots where the bolts go, so it looks like the dealer threw away the nuts that came with the bed step. It appears the one in question isn't threaded (manufacturing defect?)
Has anyone had a problem with one of the bolts not fitting?
I had my bed step installed by the dealer (I was getting power running boards installed anyways.) After a few days I went to use the bed step and noticed it was loose. Crawled under the truck and noticed all three bolts were loose...
I've noticed my truck gets TERRIBLE city mileage. Much lower than it's rated at (Standard v8, Crew Cab 4x4 w/ 3.21.) However, my highway mileage is pretty close to ratings.
If I do a full tank of gas city-only driving, I get 13 or less. Freeway, I get 18-20 depending on how fast I drive...
You can look back at my posts. I experienced the same problems when I tried the gx302s with CDL 6x9s. The dash overpowered everything else, they sounded shrill, and there was little to no bass from the system. It only got worse the more volume was raised. I swapped dash speakers out with JL...
I like the JL's a lot. They sound great without any harshness to them. I originally installed the JBL 3.5s and they were incredibly shrill, but I think that is partially because too much power was going to them when compared to the CDT 6x9s they were matched with. I had very little bass in that...
I have a similar setup, except I used the JL Audio c2-350x in the dash and CDT 6.9's in all 4 doors. I have plenty of bass in my system without a sub.
I actually ordered a JL audio 10" Powerwedge+ and got the dash and door speakers replaced before the sub arrived. I instantly started...
I noticed a sound related issue while I was doing my stereo install this week. I removed the rear seat and back insulation cover and there are two vents on the back wall that release pressure from the vehicle when the AC is on. There is significantly more road noise when they are open.
Is it...
It definitely will not work. The Alpine/HK systems output flat low-level signals from the radio and use the canbus to control the installed amps for volume/eq/etc. The AP4 essentially duplicates the functionality of the amp and requires flat inputs and canbus input to control it. The base system...
I am curious... the ANC speaker drone some of you have had. How noticeable is it? Is it something that is so clearly wrong that anyone who isn't listening for it would say "WTF is that?!?!" or is it something more subtle and you have to be listening for it.
I have a mild drone at certain RPMs...
