Has there been a competitive review yet, that Ram hasn't won?
Why did Ram switch the trailer hookup hole location? Different supplier? 3rd and 4th gen was great and easy to access with loops out and easy to reach.
Too bad the F150 had the 3.0 PS. Not exactly apples to apples.
Yeah i'm not sure. It is close. That is a good option.
I could also do just the "hemi" part from this kit, and use the "345" on the durango (in place of the 392 on SRT durangos). Would need to find it in chrome though.
Thinking of relocating my emblems on my 4th gen to look 5th gen or more like the SEMA hood. Looking for your opinions:
I like the 4th gen hood the best, but doesn't really go with the Laramie i ended up with.
Current:
Concept 1:
Concept 2:
Concept 3:
Concept 4:
That makes sense. Inlet too small and no side inlet/vent pockets. Its too "plane jane" for TRX i think. Still looks good tho.
I image the inlet will be closer to 2" tall. This one looks only .5-.75"
These trucks do look great with 35s and fit them well. Just need more motor. I actually like the prevous ram bar concept that slid back and forth on the side rails a little better, for functionality sake. Also a fan of trialing the black interior.
I like the hood and the wedge shaped badges...
I just noticed...last year they posted a bunch of articles near the end of October, but didn't release the data and winner until 2 months later, near the end of December....sure hope they don't do that this year.
That is typically how it is, when Ram doesn't win comparisons overall. Usually most of the testers would pick the ram with their own money, which speaks volumes
I'm hoping this afternoon (central time). Yesterday was dead silent, as was monday. Its got to be today or tomorrow, before SEMA info floods us next week.
It is also a great way to force Fords hand. They can't get much more out of the 3.5 ecoboost...so if they want to offer comparable, reliable, consistent HP/TQ to compete with what Ram will be bringing to the table soon (and already has in the hellcats), they'll have to switch back to V8 power as...
That's why i was so interested when we saw the limited Ram test mule with reportedly a non-supercharged V8 and the smaller lift. I think it is in direct response to the HO 3.5 limited F150, and my be something we see in a pre-TR/TRX Ram 1500 limited truck, hopefully next year.
I would expect...
Exactly. I'm hoping this is a debut, in crate form, of the engine that may be in the upcoming TR. Typically the crate is after the production version, like they did with the hellcrate and 6.4 apache crate. Based on the sound at idle, i would not expect it to be exactly the motor the TR would...

They specifically state the Ram's seem better and have less glare than others, especially the F150s.
Are your fogs also on, and maybe shining up?
You also have an ORG so are...
To be fair to the salesman, I think 10% gain is fair to expect based on fuelly just from upgrading to the 8 speed trans. Pre 2014 avg 14s, post 2014 avg 15s.
You shouldn't see much improvement with the new truck in towing MPG. The salesman was telling you what you wanted to hear, to sell a vehicle.
I would also not expect the 5.3 to get dramatically better towing MPG in the same conditions, if everything is hand calculated (and make sure you are...
Yeah i dont know if the ridge grapplers are worth the extra $. But if a tire lasts 50k miles, that's like 5 or more years for me...so sometimes it justifies to spend an extra 500 on a tire that you may think looks and rides the best. That's the only reason i'm considering it now.
