I was having the exact same issue. It was like hitting the mute button on and off. Took it to the dealer and they did a hard reset. That was back in November and knock on wood, it hasn’t done it since.
Wife got a new Grand Cherokee in May, and they had one sitting in the showroom that I couldn’t stop getting up and looking at it. We went back in July and bought one. I’ve only owned silverados for the last 15 years, but this new body style blew me away. Traded in my 2015 Midnight Edition...
Tires can definitely make all the difference between a good ride and a bad one. I’m leaning more and more towards maybe the tires they are putting on from the factory could be causing these vibration issues some are experiencing.
After reading on here how much the Bridgestones are disliked, I am considering changing myself. We have the Bridgestones on my wife’s Grand Cherokee, and we’ve always felt they were smooth and quiet. Does anyone think these trucks are maybe too heavy for these tires?
Well if your vibration goes away after disabling the MDS I would definitely look at the ATMM. You can go underneath your truck and unplug them to see for sure. I would say if those are your issue, you’ll definitely be able to say for sure if they’re unplugged and it’s driving perfect.
I’ve heard of dealers not filling up used cars, but never new ones. While my wife and I were in the finance dept, they prepped our truck and once we were done they had it sitting out front with a full tank of gas all ready to go.
For whatever reason mine has been fine for over 3 weeks. Problem with that is nothing was fixed so what is causing it? I agree with not going to the dealer and that’s basically what I told my dealer. Until they know what is the cause and what the fix is, I didn’t want them tearing into my truck...
Hopefully this solves your issue. How did they come to the conclusion you had a couple bad rims. The reason I’m asking is I brought that up to my service manager and he assured me mine where fine and that road force balancing them would’ve showed if they or a tire was bad. Not buying that but...
I know in my case I didn’t even have to look at the speedometer to know I was close to 55mph. From there till about 65 it would be there. Get above 65 and below 55 and it was smooth as glass.
What has your dealer come up with if anything? Seeing this issue seems to be widespread among different size tires and brands of tires, I’m seriously leaning towards a suspension issue. Like I posted earlier mine has mysteriously stopped about 3 weeks ago, but that still doesn’t make me feel...
Mine isn’t the violent shaking either. Like you said the shimmy in the floor and the seat. My truck only sat on the lot for about 2 months. I never experienced it till I got close to 3000 miles. Now I’m a bit over 4000 and it hasn’t done it in weeks. Temperature around here has been unusually...
Quick question to those that are experiencing this. At what mileage did you start feeling it? Was it from the beginning or like myself, right around 3000 miles? I’m just at over 4000 miles and mysteriously it hasn’t done it in 3 weeks. It’s just as smooth at any speed just like it was when I...
My mechanic friend told me today, even though he finds it highly unlikely, is torque converter shutter. He said most of these new converters the computer won’t let it totally lockup and unlock till it hits around 5,000 miles. Now mind you he says he’s only seen it a few times and it was due to...
That would be my guess too, plus I think like some other issues that have been reported, some experience it and some don’t. My 15 Silverado that i had came with Goodyear Duratracs on it, and it had a bit of a vibration at about 60 mph, but nothing quite like this. My 09 Silverado was lifted and...
I totally agree with this. In an earlier post I stated that a mechanic friend of mine, even though he’s just going by my description of the issue, says he thinks it’ll end up being something suspension wise. He stated the fact that it’s happening to people with different size wheels and...
Hopefully that is the answer. I would see if they’ll let you drive it and see for yourself. I had an issue with my wife’s car very similar and the dealership took wheels off a car on the lot and said it fixed the vibration in her car. I went and drove it with the tech and we both agreed it was...
