Happy ending to a good adventure. Live and learn. Thanks for sharing. We call our father in law FIL (“Phil”) for short. Nice to see a Ram out and about in the elements and glad it all turned out well. How do you like that soft topper? Been looking at those for camping.
After 4,000 miles I’m not impressed with etorque. I honestly don’t even see the point. I haven’t had any issues so far and certainly have my fingers crossed I don’t in the future. Do we just assume the battery will die at some point? If so that’s a crummy thing to look forward to. Sorry to hear...
I’m curious what you need more light for. Your LED’s are already super bright. Just wondering. I see a lot of aftermarket light bars these days. Thanks.
Yeah ok that’s going to be pushing it with these 1500’s depending on your options and payload capacity. Blame the rear springs they went to. My payload rating is only 1,297. I’m out, though, as I feel @devildodge is about to chime in.
I bet if you put “tow” somewhere in the thread title it will catch the attention of some of the towing experts on here...and they are here, and usually very happy to help.
Thank you. I’ve been trying to figure this out. I figured the pano sunroof and etorque I didn’t really want would come back to bite me! This is going to be a hard sell to leave the wife and dogs at home.
My payload is 1,297 lbs. So if I load my family of three in (420 lbs) plus the two dogs (220 lbs) and cargo in the cab (100lbs) I’m left with 557 lbs of payload. 557/.12 = 4,641 lbs. I’m left with a tiny little trailer to pull. Is that correct? How do some of these guys get away with pulling...
I’d say most these guys are in the overly aggressive A/T tire camp. Myself included. Cooper makes some really good tires for what you’re looking for. They always put out quality tires that aren’t super aggressive on the A/T front.
CarPlay is fantastic. I plug my phone in every single time and everything is on the touch screen. I’m usually playing music and when I need directions I’ll enlist google maps and the google lady will give me directions through the speakers as I’m driving. Music will politely turn down so the...
This ☝️ from my experience so far this year. And it goes in to a crawl. I’m talking like 1 mph. It’s great for when you need it in say a super icy decent off a mountain like I was in at the time. It’s a feature you won’t need 99.9% of the time but when you need it, you’re sure glad you have it.
I can see this being an issue. Seems like the new lights on the rear are meant to be visible by other drivers but don’t put out much regional illumination. There aren’t any big bulbs to light up your surroundings, if that makes sense.
On my second 5th gen and can confirm from my experience this is a thing. Sometimes I miss my 1987 F-350 crew cab 4 speed manual I sold a couple years ago. Sure didn’t feel like that truck was run by a bipolar computer. That thing was a piece of sh*t though. Always broke down. I digress.
