Installed carbon fiber steering wheel w/heat. Ebay, shipped from China, same factory that supplies US, about $300 less than US distributors. Uses factory frame. Heating connectors are not factory, so some splicing is required.
Another vote for the Bilsteins. Set at the five ring, nearly perfect level on my Rebel. I added the Mopar UCA's which look OE but have extended range ball joint. No effect on ride quality.
After the bedrug install didn't like the unfinished appearance around the bed lights. Had a couple spare kydex sheets, so milled one to produce a couple bed light frames attached to the inner fender.
OE duratracs now at 11K mi. Don't get much rain in these parts, though last week we had a pretty good drenching for a couple days. Happened to be on the freeway, going through intermittent squals (SOCAL variety). Didn't notice any issues with the duratracs. There's a 25deg incline up a...
Did LIne-X on previous 2 trucks. Last one faded pretty badly and became an eyesore. Wasn't much of a debate this time, bedrug about half the cost of line-x around here. Time will tell how it holds up to weather.
Bedrug install this weekend. In my case I needed to have some additional long pieces of velcro. Had to carve out openings for bed lights. Really happy with fit and appearance. Best price I found was gatorcovers.com, they provided a discount for ordering via chat, received 2 days after order.
Welcome. Relatively new myself, my first 1500. Gained a lot of good info doing the above. Forum search is your friend, especially on specific topics. Lotsa helpful folks inhabit this forum.
Last Sat was 'do stuff to the Rebel' day. Caliper paint and color matched outside mirror caps.
Finished up with some vinyl hood stinger accents (not a very good pic).
For west coasters, MD is a bit of a hike. In March 2021 spec'd out the Rebel and requested quotes from both MD and Auburn CDJR (Auburn WA). At the time Auburn was doing internet order discounts similar to MD. Quotes came back within a hundred dollars of each other, about 12.3% below MSRP...
Daughter's Kia has HUD and I drive it frequently. Not at all distracting to me. The 1500 HUD can be moved around a bit to suit placement and IMO provides impt info without removing eyesight from road...speed, speed limit, location and such. Only issue which concerned me was use of polarized...
Another happy diesel owner. Bought mine in WA state, drove it home to SOCAL. Averaged almost 28mpg on 1400mi trip, one (and only) fuel stop at exactly 836mi on odo (33gal tank). First diy oil change at 5K. At almost 9Kmi, overall avg mpg at 25.1, combo freeway/city. Double the mpg from my...
Given your trip mileage I would do it ahead of time. Did my first one at 3K. Also old school (or just old), change oil more frequently than factory recommends.
As others have noted, the Bilsteins work very well for leveling. Bilstein's on the 5th ring produced a 1.8" lift on my Rebel, within a 1/4" of level. Also upgraded to the Mopar UCAs which look stock but provide additional ball joint travel. Alignment necessary and straightforward. About a...
