I had this happen a few days ago as well when I was stuck in traffic behind a straight-piped diesel.
I’ve heard that some vehicles will automatically allow fresh air into the cabin on a cycle to maintain lower cabin co2/o2 levels; so i chalked it up to the fact that my truck was probably just...
I’m considering new coils for a future mod. Did you increase the gap in the plugs as well?
SOS coils have shown dyno improvements too. Coils tested by Motortrend
SOS coils claim to be 40kv coils vs RIPP at 27kv and OEM at 26kv.
SOS coils for the 3.6 are 35kv vs OEM at 25kv.

I should have my new headers back from Jet-Hot at the end of the month. I'll let you know how things looks in terms of these gaskets when I remove everything. As far as I...
The AFE headers have some heat shield wrap in the kit that is used to protect a passenger side coolant hose. I added some more to the dip stick tube.
The manifold gaskets have some heat shield to them as well. But I haven’t had any issues.
With the jet-hot coating I will not be worried at all...
My business neighbor is a machine shop who welded my cracked drivers side header(still good). He did it after hours and charged me $170.
Our maintenance shop has a large diameter sanding disk which we use to grind down the warped manifolds on our company trucks. I considered this route but I...
My understanding is that you have to heat-cycle the manifolds a few times for them to find their resting state/shape. I assume you could do this in a high temp oven or run them for a few thousand miles and then remove them to machine the flange. Either way, fresh manifolds do not emilinate the...
I just mailed out my new manifolds for jet-hot ceramic coating after I had to have the flanges machined/decked due to warping fresh out of the box.
After doing more research, we are in good company struggling with warped/broken exhaust manifolds. It happens on GM trucks at my office, and it...
The best thing you can do is… pray. My SA told me I was SOL when I brought in my truck for the third time since my truck was just a few miles out of bumper to bumper warranty and that was with an extended mopar warranty.
“Ram Cares” couldn’t help me since I didn’t have an open case or...
AFE just shipped a new header for the passenger side. I will install both new warrantied headers soon and cross my fingers. I am tired of having to drive around with my windows open to keep from passing out on exhaust gas :p
I am also not going to ceramic coat this time as it didn't seem to...
I am about 10 oil changes deep with this truck and average about 4-5oz of oil vapor condensate each time I dump the catch can. So I have effectively prevented a half gallon of "oil" from entering my intake so far. Seems like a win to me.
Well I had an exhaust leak form again even with my AFE headers. I was hopeful it was a sealing issue at the collectors but I found a crack on a weld at the pipes that come together at the collector, just like what happened with my driver’s side AFe manifold.
I did find a gasket for the...
I have AFE and they are about the same as JBA. Advantage with JBA is that you can get factory ceramic coating if I remember correctly. AFE are raw stainless. Nothing wrong with that. A number of us get them ceramic coated after the fact.
I also had mine ceramic coated(twice because of a fail on the first batch). The shop I had them done at said their flat black was the highest temp, but it still seems to be burning off the pipes but not the flanges.
I think these trucks must run really hot to meet emissions. When I removed...
