I spoke with an independent shop owner the other day that has replaced many cast iron manifolds from different manufacturers. He was well aware of our struggle and he recommended NOT installing the heat shield. Apparently the Ford 460’s in RV applications would commonly smoke their manifolds...
The local dealers in my area do not stock these new manifold kits and I received a few different answers from each parts department.
"These are special order and 8 weeks out. The kits we have in stock are spoken for."
"These are special order and we cannot place an order for another week."...
I had the door open no Tazer for about two hours. Just popped it back in and my EVIC didn’t even come on and the start button was blip flashing. Truck wouldn’t even start. I’m thinking my Tazer must have gone t’its up.
I let it sleep overnight in my driveway.
I’ve got to wash the boat and cut the grass today. I’ll try the keys away and open door approach. Thanks for the help!
This is a head-scratcher. Thanks for the reminder. I thought that maybe I had forgotten a step in the process and read and reread instructions and downloaded the most recent manual thinking I may have missed a revised process. No luck.
I took the Tazer out last night and plugged the cables...
I had the factory manifolds crack on my truck maybe two years ago. Dealer denied there was a problem so I installed shorties from AFE. I have had a nightmare with them from day one. Multiple failed welds that cracked warped flanges, out of round collectors. Leaks leaks and more leaks. I can tell...
Well no changes. I tried your trick and the truck still doesn’t recognize the Tazer. Very odd. Still no response from Z automotive.
The Tazer unit does feel very warm. Is that normal?
I don't use my Tazer actively to change features, but I leave it plugged in. The other day I too started my truck(now just a weekend driver) and all of a sudden I got a splash of errors and service warnings all over my EVIC. I could not get into the Tazer settings so I left my battery...
I installed the CFS690’s in all 4 doors in 4ohm and disconnected the sub. Very happy with the sound and the improvement in quality of lower frequencies. Classical, Jazz, classic rock all sound great, even songs/ genres which are bass heavy sound so much better than the OEM woofers.
I appreciate the little things that can be major annoyances. My ‘95 E320 Mercedes has a dead pedal and it makes long drives so much nicer on the legs. Germans have ergonomics figured out. I do miss having one in the Ram, but i had other gripes that had taken precedence(leaky rear window, bad...
Today I spent 4 hours riding in the back seat of a new gmc sierra elevation trim truck going to and from a bird hunt. Boy was I happy to get back in my DT.
The owner of my company is partial to gmc’s for our fleet and some of our project managers got the new sierras last December. These trucks...
I’m at 13mo and still no leaks after sealing the upper window/body seam. (y)
I recently removed the rear seats and trim to install sound dampening material and saw no indications of leaks or water intrusion.
I too regularly experience the whistle and today after commuting 45min to a job-site was parked idling and for the first time experienced the whale/horn sound from the passenger side dash. I shut off the radio and it didn’t make a difference. Probably about 5-8seconds in duration. 65,xxx on the...
