Both. But to clarify, I think the system is still too loud. Borla has totally missed the mark on the Touring system. They are pandering to children who like obnoxiously loud exhaust systems.
I've been modifying and tuning/calibrating modern vehicles for over a decade now.
If there was an ECU update for this, it would simply be a MAF re-calibration due to a change in airflow across the MAF sensor. And that does not necessarily equate to any performance gain, whatsoever.
Installed the optional Borla "muffler" today (Borla code for resonator I guess). It most definitely took some bark out of the Touring cat back system. Cold starts are mellower. I shouldn't wake up too many neighbors at 5 AM now. I'm not real good with descriptive words, explaining what I feel...
Sure thing. My truck is a Longhorn. I have not spent time driving or riding in any other model, so I have no idea if the LH has a milder exhaust note than others. I mention this, because so many people are posting that this system is NOT loud, and close to stock. I was not expecting it to be...
I just finished installing the Touring. Dang......it's loud. I've had three Borla Touring systems on three different vehicles now (plus this ram, making it four), and this is by far the loudest of them all. And to put that into perspective, I have a Touring system on my highly modified 08 Z06...
Cool, thanks for the clarification. I was parroting what the Technician told me that had to get them to work. So what exactly was he "cloning"? The encryption packet?
For what it's worth, the sensors do need to be the correct sensor for the vehicle. If they are not factory OEM sensors, they may need to be programmed to output the correct frequency. Some aftermarket sensors will need to be re-calibrated to the correct output frequency. I just went through this...
There is no rubbing or any issue at all when driving normal. Even when the suspension is in "Areo" mode and I hit frost heaves at 70 mph. It only rubs during a hard turn R/L, like when parking. I'm certain ten minutes with a Dremel will take care of it. If it were not for this surprise snow...
I had some 285/60/20 Toyo Open Country AT's installed yesterday. Longhorn with ORP. New Fuel Wheels with OE offset too. They rub the molded splash guards. I will need to trim them a bit. If you intend to use the same type of splash guard, keep this in mind.
I've used Meguiars over the past few months. Only because I already had it..... Seems to work just fine. I believe the tag that came attached to the seats from the factory instructed to use soapy water? I do not recall what kind of soap though.
If you wouldn't mind, can you post back after you install it and let me (us) know how it works out for you? I want to get a Touring system, but will not place the order without confirmation it will fit my truck with 6.4' bed.
Anyone who tows/hauls a lot, a tire with more sidewall strength should be considered. An "E" rated tire is generally 12 ply, where a light duty tire is 6 or 8 ply. The additional side wall rigidity limits the amount of lateral movement the tire will have between the rim and the road. The...
