Might want to check carefully - widely reported here.... Yes it works 0-15mph, but if you decelerate from, say 60 to 0, around 15mph, the OEM controller let’s up on the trailer brakes. Not sure by how much, but it is noticeable. I plan on instrumenting the trailer brake circuit with a storage...
Don’t waste any time on that....the registration is not worth anything.
Nitrogen makes a bigger diff in tube tires. Not that it’s a bad thing, just of limited value in this application.

The MFT should be of no concern. I would not be surprised if it’s actually stronger in the folded down position than the regular. Each half of the MFT is supported at four points plus the cables...
As for 15ft cargo dangling out of the bed, that’s what I’d call il-advised...😂
So there’s no surge forward, but you can feel the change. Also, we don’t know the trailer brakes are fully disengaged, but it does feel like there’s a significant release of the trailer brakes. At 15mph, the rig stops just fine, just a little disconcerting....

Almost all spares are 18” rims, with spare tires that have similar circumference to the OEM tires. My Laramie with 275/55-20 tires came with a 245/70-18 spare tire on a cheap alloy wheel.
My manual override works fine below 15 mph. The problem is that the brake controller let’s up on the trailer brakes when slowing to below 15mph. When slowing down to 15mph, there’s a lurch when the brake controller gives up, and from 14mph down to zero, the trailer brakes aren’t engaged unless...
That’s how you determine if you can tow it. If the tongue weight doesnt overload your payload, and you take it easy, I suspect you will have no problem towing that trailer.

There is no ‘forcing them’.
My local dealer flat out refuses to do the work. Service Manager told me he doesn’t want to get stuck fixing it when they screw it up, it squeaks or rattles or doesn’t work. I can’t imagine how bad it would turn out, if they were forced to do it.
