There is a certain amount of additional noise that is normal when in 4WD as compared to 2WD. It shouldn't be excessive, but you will hear some incremental drivetrain noise. I would have it checked next time it is in for service but otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
Every manufacturer gets the occasional bad apple. Not trying to be a wise guy, but with that track record I would dump the truck at the end of the warranty period. The best indicator of a vehicle's reliability after the warranty expires is the vehicle's warranty before the warranty expires...
It’s time to change the battery in my truck after 4 plus years and 45k miles. Is there any way, or tips, to minimize error messages, CELs, or other glitches that I have read occur as the Hal 9000 reboots itself after the change? Thanks in advance.
The low oil pressure warning was a software issue? How do you know? It could be but an oil pressure gauge and sender is a relatively simple affair. Folks better be sure.
Thank you. We tow a horse trailer and have never seen much over 217. The trans and water temps are also far higher than what I have seen. This is the 5.7 but that is pretty hot. If I were seeing oil temps near 230 or higher I would go with a higher viscosity.
I am not sure what we are looking at there. Anytime you remove fixed glass you are going to have roughness around the edges. As far as the leak, it would be more interesting to see the extent of the rust and corrosion. The surface of the motor for the rear window doesn't really tell us...
Is the truck dealer serviced? You may have some luck asking (politely, respectfully, but firmly) for goodwill assistance on the repair. Tell them you would like to stay a Ram customer (even if somewhat BS) but the truck has had a lot of issues and it would be meaningful for factory support on...
Not at all. But things happen in life, much worse than this. If I were you, I would be annoyed, no question. But rather than coming here to pointlessly vent, I would ask the dealer for a loaner. And not a ****box, but a nice loaner - another Ram 1500, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Wagoneer, etc...
I don’t question that any car can have issues, but is it easier to come post on the internet or would it be better and perhaps more productive to ask the dealer to provide a loaner while the issue is resolved. A big dealer like Mark Dodge doesn’t have service loaners? If you have the loaner...
Candidly, I have learned not to argue with people on the internet. I stated my views above, after fully reading what you described, and they remain unchanged. Good luck getting your truck fixed, seriously.
My sense is we are not getting the full story. I don’t like insurance companies but first Ram is evil and now Allstate is too. There is another side of the story here. Plus the rear glass leak is not a deluge of water generally that would lead to mold unless the truck were unattended for...
There is something not right here. 2019 and 2020 Rams are covered by an 8 year extended warranty on the back glass and third brake light. When I experienced the leak, the only issue was the wait for new glass. I complained to Chrysler corporate and they expedited the part in two weeks and...
This happened once on my truck. First, turn off the feature that automatically engages the parking brake when you go into park. This feature also engages the parking brake if the door is opened at slow speeds. As others have said, then disconnect the battery.
On our truck, what triggered...
I understand that the Ford 3.5 eco boost has been a reliable motor, much better than the 2.7 (seems odd to me). The hurricane reliability is open issue, it is unknown I agree and I would imagine bugs will surface. Hopefully they are relatively minor and can be properly sorted over the...
Not trying to argue but I do question how the corporate drama really impacts customers. Using myself as example, we have a 2020 1500. Truck has been great and pretty much trouble free. Based on this ownership I would definitely consider another. Also needed a super large SUV for our family...
2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the Level II package so it is a complex truck
Only problem has been the leaking rear window. Took several weeks to get the part and had to garage the truck during that time to make sure I didn't get something wet that shouldn't get wet. Otherwise, no issues in 41k...
I have not had this experience with our Ram. However many years ago I had (and still have) a BMW where they had to change the block due to chemical corrosion of the cylinder liners. We also had a Honda where they changed the oil control rings on the deactivated bank of the motor - it utilized...
