Lets revive this one, Today I had this error come up on my truck twice. Both times when braking and coming to a complete stop. The message instantly goes out and I have engaged the rear axle lock and it still works. 2020 Ram 5.7 1500 4x4 with 76k
That's pretty interesting in the difference in shifts between the 2 different leveling procedures. I did mine with the pan leveled....When doing it the instructions stated to level the pan but in my head I thought to myself if someone did this on a lift it would just have the frame leveled. I...
I only did that on the initial fill, Once it was running and up to temp I had to manually hold the filler neck inside the fill hole and add the fluid while keeping the hose away from the exhaust
Just hauled my camper from Syracuse, NY to Myrtle Beach and back. 1885.3 Miles round trip, Averaged 8.3 MPG running 70MPH keeping up with my brother in his 2017 2500 Diesel and 42' 5th wheel (he averaged 9.1mpg) Mine is a 2020 1500, 5.7 with 3.92 rear gear, Timber Grove 5000# Air bags, Load bars...
Congratulations on starting your Rock Auto magnet collection LOL. (you'll get this once you open the box) I've had great luck with them on all of the orders I have placed
3/1/25 Update, Installed the PPE pan today.... went much smoother than my original try LOL. The install was a breeze because I already had everything apart and knew what to expect. A few notes... Order a new pan gasket, Instructions say to reuse the old one but I felt better using a new one...
I had a similar noise... did the TRX mounts on my truck and it didnt fix it. Mine ended up being the front sway bar bushings. Did them and the noise hasn't been back. its a 2020 laramie crew cab 5'7 box w 65k miles.
I bought a new OEM pan gasket and installed that into the pan and thought to myself "damn those holes in the pan look big" lol. Once I get the stock pan off ill see how hard they are to come out, if they fight me Ill do what you did and bolt up and torque it down haha.
The holes in the PPE pan appear to be huge for the stock bolts, The stock pan looks to have steel inserts in the pan. While reading the directions for the PPE pan it refers a few times to the "stock flange collars" and I was assuming it was those? I could be wrong tho
Question to the OP, in the instructions it says to retain the stock bolts and flange collars for the install of the new pan. Do the flange collars simply press out of the old pan? I am hopefully installing my PPE pan next weekend
I just went through this trying to install a B&M pan on my truck. If there was any good excuse for longtube headers and a dual exhaust the transmission pan makes a very good case for them LOL
I routed my fill pump hose over the exhaust and then zip tied around the hose/exhaust and that way the...
Next step started today, After days of shipping delays because of weather (Palermo, NY which is 1/2 hour from me received 101" of snow in 7 days LOL) I finally received the PPE pan. It also looks like a very nice piece, Unlike the B&M pan which requires some assembly before the install, the PPE...
Round 2.... Just ordered the PPE pan and a new OEM pan gasket. FYI if you are interested summit has a $20 off promo code... you can get the pan for $291 shipped. I will post my findings when I get it installed
You have the big cats also, From what I see on PPE's website they used my style for the test pan which is nice because worst case if you have the longer cats it moves the crossover away from the pan. I have been in contact with PPE and they have been very helpful... Ill be ordering one of their...
id pa
Id pay $500 for a pan that has the drain in the correct spot, Why the OEM one is directly over the exhaust is beyond me. That is #1, the replaceable filter and extra oil capacity are just added bonuses lol
I know right? Looking at the PPE pan it looks like the test truck they used has the same style cats as my truck. Would be interesting to see what your truck has and what other members trucks have on them. I sent a inquiry to B&M explaining my findings... Hopefully they contact me and I can...
