I'm around 7,300 miles and I only use 87 octane gas. I get around 17-19 mpg, and I always drive with MDS off. Only real engine type mod I've done is full Carven catback exhaust. I do keep the E-Torque on unless I'm in a stop-n-go traffic jam.
I figured it out quite a while back. I just use gear selector to disable it every-time I drive. Haven't used MDS in about 2 months, and I enjoy the truck better.
Got a dashcam for Xmas that I'm going to install. Comes with a short USB and also a 13ft USB cable so no battery/hardwire needed. Type-A USB can plug directly into a power port(13ft) or into a regular DC adapter(short cable). Will post pictures and how I routed cable eventually.
Highway driving 60-80 I can get up near 19 MPG. City driving with extended stops and stop/start at shops/fast food I can get 16.7 or thereabouts. I also keep MDS off at all times.
87 Octane, about 7k miles on truck now.
I believe the computer in the truck calculates the the MPG over the...
I desperately needed some mud flaps b/c dirt driveways and grime from the road were constantly covering my lower fenders and side steps. After installing the Gatorbacks that is an issue of the past now. No mud gets kicked up on fenders or steps. I swear these trucks should have come with them...
Just went ahead and ordered some Gatorbacks for the Rebel: https://www.sharptruck.com/2019-ram-gatorback-ramhead-logo-with-black-wrap-no-drill-mud-flap-set-2
Yeah it has the Goodyear Wrangler ones. When I'm going about 70 you can hear it a bit, but its nothing loud. To me its a bit quieter than my past cars.
I have the rebel with somewhat offroad tires, and it is very quiet. Hell quieter than my '12 Mustang was road noise wise.
Now sometimes I have a light whistling noise, but I believe that is due to the bigger tow mirrors. Nothing irritating though.
I'm not sure how the noise cancelling works...
2019. I know the first link won't, but in the 2nd it will fit according to the website: 2019 Ram 1500 has green check, and lists below:
Tire Coverage - 2" | Flare Height - 5"
Will fit Ram Rebel
If present, fender badges may need to be relocated or removed for installation.
Will NOT work...
Does anyone know where to find Fender Flares that resemble this?: https://turn5.scene7.com/is/image/Turn5/R104302?$mproductlarge$&wid=810&hei=608
I want to add a pair for the front and back that are painted black/black for the Rebel. After I get a set of flares on....other than the factory...
I get around 17.7-18.7. 87 Octane only.
I suppose factors like having a truck bed cover helps. Thought about riding around in Aero mode, which might help slightly as well.
3 Main reasons in order:
1. With the aftermarket exhaust I have, Carven Competitor, it is so noticeable when it cuts on. Imagine you have both back windows down and you hear a loud reverberation from that....well when MDS cuts on, unless you accelerate hard to cut it right off again you will...
After getting the Carven Competitor it was a must to turn off MDS, because when it kicks on and you go to accelerate it is "very" noticeable.
You know the reverberation sounds when you only roll down both back windows? Similar, but exhaust note when it activates.
Figured I'd post how to turn on/off MDS on here as I was not too familiar with the gear+/- functionality. To turn off MDS I started out putting it in Drive and "then" I would hit - and then + to reach 8, but that is a lot of unnecessary button pushing.
Once in drive, no matter what gear you...
