You can run 87 but if you like to get the most performance from the SO with 22 psi of boost then run premium.
I've had a Challenger Scat Pack and the 392 Hemi used 93 octane so it's no big deal to me.
I've been using 93 octane from the start with combined mileage lately being 16.2 mpg hand calculated although the computer was spot on.
The mileage dropped with Winter blend fuel that switched on 9/15/24 with Summer blend I got 17.4 mpg.
I've gotten this message too "Performance may be limited. Press one pedal at a time" . It's always when doing low speed turns making a turn at a intersection. I guess both the brake and accelerator must have been pressed at the same time...seems odd.
I've had this occur with my 2025 Rebel when making a slow speed maneuver going through a intersection.
What happens the accelerator pedal doesn't have any response a message flashes quickly "Performance may be limited. Press one pedal at a time" and a chime rings.
Seems that the nanny doesn't...
I used the programmer from this company to add power folding mirrors to my 2019 BigHorn. https://infotainment.com/shop/exterior-accessories/power-folding-mirrors/2019-2024-ram-1500-truck-power-folding-mirrors-package/
It seems like electrical gremlins going on.
Make sure to press in all the fuses so they are fully seated. My fuses for the Rebel and Wrangler were not fully seated.
Be sure to run 91 or 93 octane in these engines if you read Stellantis specs recommend premium fuel even though the manual says 87...
These engines will take advantage of the higher octane. so I run premium in both my 2024 Wrangler Rubicon with a 2.0 Hurricane and 2025 Rebel.
I've checked the sensors on my 2.0L Hurricane and it will do 25 psi of boost with 93 octane premium and only 21 psi with 87 octane regular.
So far I'm getting 17.4 mpg combined city/highway average hand calculated after 2,000 miles.
I figure that isn't bad considering the Rebel has 3.92 gears a 1 inch lift and not economy oriented 33" A/T tires.
I'm not sure the dealer can. Any options are driven by 3 digit sales code that are applied to your vin.
They can only apply the sales code if your trim level/model would have been a option for it initially.
The dealer is very limited as to what can be enabled on your vehicle.
For me I would...
