OK, that sounds right.
Its not BS, I know what my eyes see, I don't need any data or research to tell me otherwise. It is also prevalent that the 3/4 tons do the same and some 1 tons, I know because my buddy tows a fully loaded 34' toy hauler with air bags to help with the rear suspension with...
I forgot about my 1500 I purchased used with 29K miles, the previous owner installed spring assists airbags, and the miles towing recorded was @ 14K miles. That indicates the electric brake was connected, assuming a heavier tongue weight and heavy trailer. I didn't see the towing miles til after...
Correct, if I read it wrong I'll apologize ahead of time, but his Hemi was equipped as the Hurricane and he lost 4mpg with the Hurricane, IF, I read it right
See post #1796
BowDown, our savior. I'm from SoCal originally and you'd have too see all the 1500's making their way South to Glamis Dunes, with there toy haulers crushing their rear suspensions.
I'm sorry your tree fell, we just lost a lot of trees to an 85mph (per NWA) wind that damaged homes and some...
It is a first year motor in a 1500 application, which will be subjected to a much heavier duty cycle. Most 1/2 ton owners tend to overload their trucks, an example would be buying a light trailer rated at or slightly over GCWR. I've seen many 1/2 ton owners of all brands haul 30' trailers, and...
That article you linked to is very informative on DI engines, but I didn't read that the problem is solved, just variable ways to prevent carbon buildup. The only way we'll know, will be time tested, if it effects the Hurricane motor.
Nice, let us know how it performs with the rig, do you know the weights? I literally just weighed my 21' Pontoon with my 2020, with both full of fuel. It weighed out at, GCW 10280, trailer axles are 4220, Steer at 3160 and drive at 2900. I'll post the milage, but its a short trip mostly level...
That’s a nice rig, enjoy Kanab, I miss the big playground in the West. Do you ever make it to Glamis, I enjoyed towing my 5ver to Glamis with my mighty 2019 3500 SRW HO, but had to borrow my buddies RC
Wow, you got me. Good for him he gets better MPG. But I'm sure he had a Hemi with 3:92 rear diff., which means it wouldn't compare to my 3:21 rear diff anyway. Get over it Snowflake.
OK got it, I didn't record between your route, but I did travel some of it. I filled up in Ehernberg AZ, then in Holbrook AZ. At 342.9 miles, I pumped in 16.881 gallons of 87 octane and added in 7 ounces of MMO for a total MPG of 21.2 MPG. Mesa to Holbrook, was HWY 87 to 260 to 377 into...
Are you talking about Flagstaff? Unfortunately for me I only have MPG heading North from Flagstaff (down the hill) on the 40. When I returned back to Kentucky, I stopped in Mesa to see my daughter, so I took the 10 to mesa from SoCal. I ended up going through Payson AZ from Mesa to catch the 40...
I'm not F'ing anywhere, this is a open website, you don't like what I post, you can leave the thread.
:ROFLMAO:
Per the posted video the Hurricane was way worse, my 2020 gets 21.2 MPG proven hand calculated, if you want proof I've got it and can send it with a PM. Over 4K+ miles with all...
Your getting off on the wrong foot, if you think this thread was derailed. The way I see this thread, the only issue not related to the 2025 Hurricane posted, was about an outboard boat motor. Even then, it was indirectly related to it, being a 3.0 I4 motor.
Thats OK, cool aid on isle 5, what do you expect, do you want me to be a yes man and drink grape cool aid, I don't like the others. This website is open to all opinions, to dump an iconic V8, for a tiny 3.0 I6 will get strong opinions. Its why I bought a low milage 2020 5.7 non eTorque Bighorn...
Thats good to hear, but the Eco Diesel had the same rep, until they put it in a Ram truck.
Did I read this correct, your claiming the Ford Powerjoke is a maxed out V8, which I agree? Thats my point with the Hurricane, small engine with max HP/TQ.
I was thinking about a side subject we were...
You know, I've been there before, 5.9 vrs 6.7 CTD, way more HP and Torque and I drank the cool aid then. Bought a 2007 3500 4X4 C&C with less HP and slightly more TQ then the 2004 2500 4X4 5.9 CTD I sold my brother. The reason for less HP was the unknown facts (at that time) when the 2007.5 6.7...
Just keep in mind, "He who laughs last, laughs best. Believe it or not, I do hope it is successful, because thats a lot of buyers money that will be waisted, as well as the reputation of Dodge Ram trucks. A lot of Eco Diesel buyers felt that after multiple engine failures in the same truck, a...
