I just drove 700 miles in two different 2024 Lariat 150's, good luck with that, I wasn't impressed.
How can we know they changed something as simple as a brake controller install. The past trucks was easy plug and play if not equipped.
Well if its an overhead head cam V8, no thanks. My opinion of the hurricane OHC is the same, but at least its simple, compared to a V8 with OHC's. If I had a decision in an engine design, it'd be close to the Hurricane with a larger displacement minus the modern sensors. Mercedes and BMW have...
Ya, I actually researched the TC oil and have a few samples of different oils to compare, but I had to buy the OE oil to compare with the others, so I used it first.
Its time to change diffs, transfer case and transmission fluids. I can't say about 4x4, but if its auto 4X4, there is a clutch involved and the oil is expensive.
Thats good to hear, did the dealer charge as much as you initially posted, seeing how its plug and play? If the included wire harness is not needed, did they expound on the fact its plug and play, so DIY'ers can perform the labor, then have the dealer flash your truck updating it?
Backing up to my cargo trailer in storage, there is a bit of a ditch, at first I thought I bottomed out on the frame/hitch weldment, so I backed up on a slight angle over the rise and hooked up and left. Did it again backing up to a slope in a parking spot and then wham, I got out to check...
FWIW, I purchased four new model trucks in my life. The first, even though it was a subtle change, it was the first EFI 318 engine in the 92 Dakota, the second was the 94 Ram, and the third was the 07 C&C, the forth was my 2019 CTD had changed over to the new HPFP (CP4.2). That was a major issue...
Dealer near me doesn't deal at all, they think 2K off MSRP is a deal. But you should shop around on the websites for the big Ram dealers if your willing to travel. Some will even pick you up at the airport, but I believe its a buyers market, I'd expect $5K to $10K off MSRP for 2024's.
Thanks for the compliment, that is the purpose for these sites, is to help others. Please followup on your tire experience after some decent miles. I believe in Michelin tires, but they don't have the type of tires that you bought. In the near future I'm going to lift my front end and upgrade to...
And the wheels, should be at or above Ram's axle ratings as well. A neighbor of mine had some real nice wheels for his 3/4 ton Suburban and cracked one while towing his boat to Lake Havasu, turned out the weight rating wasn't enough for the Chevy Suburban rating and the manufacture wouldn't...
This post is not critiquing the new Ram, rather giving members who spent their savings to buy the new Ram another way to afford an electric brake controller. $1000.00 for a Trailer Brake Controller, if not equipped, is ridiculous, and for less than 300.00 for DIY'ers, you can wire in an...
X2 would be 5200 lbs combined, being E load, that is high for a 1500 or 1/2 ton. The max rate (GAWR) for the rear axle on your 1500 is only 4100 lbs, thats gives you 1100 lbs of safety. I hope that works for you, as noted previously check your wheels for their rating, they could be under Rams...
Did the Ram OE tires wheels come with 24"? I ask because the wheels should be considered as well in the load rating equation. Check with the Aftermarket wheel manufacture for the rating info.
The OE tires probably exceeded the the Ram load rating. But the load rating will be on the tire your currently running. It will give both metric and standard weight load rating on the side wall.
